Questions & Answers

Will this fit a Toyota Highlander XLE from 2019?

These cross bars worked great and were simple to install on my 2016 Highlander Limited. I'm not sure if they'll work on a 2019 version or not, but the overall design hasn't changed all that much, so it's possible.

My wife's 2015 Lexus GX has the same mounting points as my 2016 Highlander. Are these compatible with the Lexus?

Will these fit the 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE Hybrid?

I haven't heard of any 2018 body changes. However, I'm very pleased with the way they fit and the quality. 2017 Land Rover Range Rover XLE

Installing it was a breeze, and it turned out beautifully
5/5

On my 2018 Highlander Limited Platinum, I just installed these. They're sturdy, look great, and were a breeze to put together. I had a plastic trim removal tool left over from a previous project, so removing the trim covers was a breeze. Before tightening the black hex screws (located on the underside of the bars), make sure you size them across the vehicle, as others have suggested. I actually installed the bars and finger tightened the mounting bolts into the vehicle to ensure the length was correct, then lightly tightened the hex screws with an allen wrench before fully tightening them. br>br>After that, I re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re Installed the bars, tightened the bolts to the vehicle with the supplied wrench until they were just tight, then used a torque wrench to achieve the 8 N-m torque. m torque. The four covers were simple to put on, and when they were properly installed, you heard a distinct "click. " At speeds of up to 60 mph, I haven't heard any wind noise. They make my new Highlander a lot more "sporty" and less of a family vehicle, in my opinion. These crossbars come highly recommended by me.

PERFECT! Our 2017 Toyota Highlander Limited looks great with these silver crossbars
5/5

All of the silver accents on our car are pearl white. Toyota only makes crossbars in black, which would be too dark for our white vehicle. I was overjoyed to discover these on Amazon, and they arrived two days later in perfect condition. My husband said the instructions were clear, that installation was simple, that the fit was good, and that the bars were sturdy. The black ones we bought from the Toyota dealer for our black 2014 Highlander were of the same high quality. We've traveled with a luggage carrier attached and recently returned from a 2,000-mile trip without one. We sped up to 80 miles per hour. On an open highway at 85 mph, there is no wind noise from the empty bars. These crossbars not only look great, but they also work well. We are ecstatic to have found them and are grateful for their assistance. I would strongly suggest it.

Look that is both unique and high-quality
5/5

Finished in Platinum Black on a 2018 Toyota Highlander Limited. I was worried it'd come across as cheesy or cheap. Instead, it looks fantastic and transforms the into a more SUV-like vehicle. Despite the fact that it isn't chrome, you can't tell and won't even notice unless you compare directly. The quality is comparable to that of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), which is 2. 5x the cost, and I was up and running in 20 minutes. I'm glad I chose this over the black OEM versions or even the black version from the same supplier. It gives the car a sophisticated appearance while also conveying the message, "I enjoy partying. ".

It looks and feels like it came straight from the factory
4/5

Not in the least. I figured it would be a good way to save money over some of the more expensive Thule or OEM bars. The quality disappointed me, but you get what you pay for. br>br>When the pylons are screwed down, each cross bar has two nylon "feet" to keep it tight against the car. Two of the front feet had fallen off upon arrival, and the other two fell off during the test fitting. It's a simple fix with almost any glue (they're pressed into place once installed, so you don't need a lot of hold), but it's still disappointing. br>br>The rubber seals around the feet aren't completely secure. The amount of material used appears to be sparse. br>br>One of the bolts had a burr on the bottom that needed to be filed off before it could be used. br>br>Getting the front rail installed on our 2015 XLE was a pain. The adjustment slides require about 1/8" more "give," but with enough wiggling and possibly a little force, it's now installed. I'm afraid of seeing what I've done to the threads if I remove it, so it'll stay in place when we sell the house.

The Length Can Be Adjusted! Underneath the surface, look for set screws
4/5

On my 2017 Toyota Highlander Limited (Platinum), I recently received and installed crossbars. At first, I was concerned that the crossbars would not fit. They appeared to be a little short at first, but then I noticed a pair of set screws on one end of both crossbars that, when loosened, allow you to adjust the length of the crossbar (a little longer or shorter). I carefully followed the directions. Although these screws are not mentioned, the hex key wrench required to make this adjustment is included with the product, and I see that a couple of people who purchased this had a similar issue. br>br>The reason I gave it four out of five stars is because of two quality issues, both involving plastic parts. br>br>The first issue stemmed from a nylon spacer on the underside of the crossbar ends. On each crossbar, there are four of these. One of these just fell off during installation. The spacer fell off and couldn't be manually positioned in the right place during installation, so it's unclear how they're supposed to attach. I used some Gorilla Glue to hold it in place until the installation was finished. This spacer will be pinched between the crossbar and a factory installed screw inside the car's roof rail once it's screwed in, so the glue will only be needed for the first few minutes of installation. The plastic crossbar covers, which are supposed to snap over the ends at the end of the installation, were the second quality issue. Three of the four fit perfectly, but one of the posts intended to slide into a metal cast cylinder on the crossbar was out of alignment. The plastic, which appears to flare out at the end, was too wide and the two halves were misaligned, preventing it from sliding into the cylindrical cavity as intended. By pinching the flared end and forcing a 9mm closed-end screw into it, I was able to fix it. Using a hex wrench, place it over the plastic end, heat it with a flame, and then let it cool. The cover snapped into place after I yanked the wrench off. br>br>I believe the installation would have taken less than half an hour if it hadn't been for two quality issues with plastic parts, which cost me an additional hour and a half.
