Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried it on a bare-roof 2006 Kia Sedona?

I'm not sure about a KIA Sedona, but it worked for me on a Nissan Altima with a bare roof. The only issue was that the clips that held the carrier to the car top leaked a little rain. The clips are placed beneath the gasket that seals the top of the door opening. When it rained, I simply tucked a couple of paper towels there to catch the water and then removed them when the rain stopped.

What is the maximum strap width that can be attached through the clip's opening?

The opening measures approximately 1 1/8" in length and 3/16" in height. My bag's straps are 1" wide, and I doubt you'd be able to fit anything wider than 1 1/8" through the opening. My 2005 BMW, by the way, was unable to accept the clips. They can't find anything to latch onto.

Is it possible to find it on a 2008 Honda Accord 4 door?

The Car Top Carrier for the Sedan is as follows: Sport 1, Sport Jr., Car Top Duffle Bag, and Auto Duffle Bag are all examples of duffle bags. br>With Car Clips, any Rightline Car Top Carrier can be used on vehicles that do not have a roof rack. Attach the clips to the standard straps that come with any Rightline Gear carrier (Car Clips are included with the Sport Jr Car Top Carrier and the Car Top Duffle Bag) and then to the vehicle's door frame weather molding. The vehicle is protected by the coating on the metal hooks. The clips pull into place and the vehicle's door closes over the clips/straps once the straps are tightened over the roof cargo carrier.

Is it possible to install these on cars with sunroofs?

Yes, your Rightline Gear Car Top Carrier now has car clips. The Car Clips let you attach the carrier to the door frames of vehicles that don't have a roof rack.

The clips are a bit on the big side
3/5

That's how big it is. The clips are a bit on the big side. When used on our 2005 Camry, they were so large that you had to slam the doors shut (even when using the Camry's recessed clip spot on the door frame) and, more importantly, they 'broke' the car's sound seal. br>br>The noise from outside was deafening when you got up to freeway speeds! My wife and I were unable to hear our daughter in the back seat and had to communicate with each other in a loud voice.

Before you use it, make sure it works on your vehicle
3/5

Please double-check your vehicle before using these! They said they were compatible with my vehicle, but they weren't. We found out about it the morning we were leaving on a road trip, but we had a backup plan in place. I have no complaints about the company; their rooftop carrier has provided excellent service to us. This product, on the other hand, did not meet our requirements or perform as expected.

Everything was exactly as stated in the advertisement! These were purchased to attach a free car carrier to a vehicle that did not have a roof rack
5/5

These attach to the trim on the inside of your door and are held in place by the door. The carrier was held on by these clips and the original 20-year-old straps for a total of 2500 miles. My only problem was that if it rained, a few drops would run down the straps and into the car. Nothing major has happened.

There will be a lot of rain coming in through the doors
3/5

THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOU TO BE AWARE OF! Although the car doors will close, the seal will be broken. During our road trip, it rained heavily and there was a lot of leaking. Each door had a steady stream of people coming in. We were lucky to have towels in the car when we returned from the beach, but it was still crazy. They held luggage without a rack and were functional, but we would not use them again.

These buckles came highly recommended with the rooftop bag we bought (Car Roof Bag
4/5

These buckles came highly recommended with the rooftop bag we bought (Car Roof Bag - Black). 100% Waterproof Roof Top Cargo Bag With No Rack Needed Non Slip Roof Mat With No Rack Needed With No Rack Needed With No Rack Needed With No Rack (15 Cubic Feet) Storage Bag for Any Car, Van, or SUV The bag's straps were slightly bigger than the clips' hole. But I was still able to use the straps after sliding them through. The only problem I had with the clips was that it rained during our trip, and water was able to leak through the clips. This could have been caused by the straps (which will be replaced) not fitting properly. Aside from that, the clips did an excellent job of keeping the cargo bag in place on the car at all speeds, from dirt roads to freeways.

They were exactly what they said they would be
4/5

It's well-made, long-lasting, and has a good grip. Note: There will be some wind noise if you have to move the door mounted weather molding to gain unrestricted access to the door frame ledge (as is the case in most vehicles). When it rains, water will drip inside, etc. It's a little annoying, but I've seen this problem in every similar clip I've ever seen. It's a simple matter of physics: the weather molding covers the door frame ledges and keeps out noise, water, wind, and other elements, so moving it to put a clip under there removes that protection.

The bag was nice, but the hooks were unnecessary
3/5

For a long road trip, I bought these, as well as the non-skid pad and roof rack. When it came time to load everything into the car, I didn't bother with the bag's straps or these hooks because they weren't going to hold. Because the hooks wouldn't fit the doors and the straps wouldn't be tight enough to keep the bag secure, I used ratcheting straps instead, which worked perfectly.

Universal roof racks can be replaced with this product
5/5

It's nice and thick, and it works well as a roof rack replacement. It looks great on my Dodge Neon from 2005. It also fits 1 inch straps, so it could be used to secure cargo bags or cargo carriers.
