ARB 3700050 Roof Rack Fitting Kit

I'm going to try to be as straightforward and honest as possible with this review. I've been doing this for a long time, and ARB has always been a fantastic company for all things overland, but in the last 5-years, they've really stepped up their game. In the last ten years, it has become clear that quality control has deteriorated significantly. I was immediately concerned when I received the rack mounting kit. Cheap packing and directions that appeared to have been photocopied from a copy of a copy by a four-year-old. I've put these racks together before, so there's no need to be concerned, right? WRONG! Here's an example of how skimping on parts and taking shortcuts can waste time, damage your ride, and become dangerous in the wrong terrain. The bolt plates, for crying out loud. The thing that holds the rack to the foot assembly had bad threads, was threaded sideways, and was only loosely held together. This will lead to failure, as it did in my case. Fortunately, it happened in the confines of my garage rather than on some smoky trail. This isn't acceptable, safe, or ok. For the price you pay for ARB equipment, this isn't to be expected. It appears that nowadays you pay more for the name than you do for the construction.
