Yes, you use a standard pin that can be found on nearly every hitch. The bolt you see is tightened to keep the bike rack (or whatever you're mounting) from moving too much from side to side, and it also keeps the rack in place.
I wouldn't use it on a bumper made of aluminum. It's designed to go on a 4-inch steel continuous weld bumper.
No, it's a very simple layout. It served as a bike mount for me. My RV bumper cracked because there were too many bikes on it. All I'm saying is keep your eyes peeled.
That is more likely to be determined by the design of your bumper. If it's square steel and welded to the trailer's main frame, it'll probably be fine; the adapter will probably support it, but will your bumper?

The hitch is a little tight in the middle. I ordered this for my RV bumper to go with a 2" inch bike rack, and while installing it was simple, fitting it was extremely difficult; our bike rack shank does not go all the way in, so we had to hammer it in, and I had no choice but to use it because we were leaving that day for camping, so I had no choice but to use it; after the trip, I had to use the hammer to remove my bike rack; I ordered 2" opening and that is what it says in the The construction quality is excellent. I'm going to ask for a replacement because I really like this bumper hitch for my RV, or I'm going to try a different brand.
Just make sure your bumper is capable of supporting the additional weight. After putting a bike rack on it, mine started to torque. As the bumper bounced down the highway, I'm confident it would have kept the bike rack secure. It's a good thing I caught it in time, but when you refuel, ALWAYS do a quick walk around inspection of your rig!.
dependable and well-made made. However, without drilling or filing, a standard 5/8" hitch pin won't fit. They probably drill a 5/8" hole and then paint (powder coat?). ) it. I was fortunate enough to have that drill bit on hand - The majority of drills, but sets aren't that large. Instead of filing it, I believe you should file it. It was inconvenient because I only discovered this after I had already installed it, and gaining access to a drill was difficult, so I deducted one star for silliness.
If Amazon let me, I'd give it a zero. The pin holes are not only in the wrong place for a standard hitch to fit (the hitch cannot go far enough in to align the holes), but they are also too small for a standard pin to fit through. I've never seen such poor quality control in manufacturing - Who would muck up something so basic as this?.
This was simple to install on the bumper of my Camper and holds our three bike rack securely. This unit appealed to me because it includes a bolt that tightens against whatever you're hitching, preventing it from rattling around in the receiver. This is necessary to prevent the twisting and bouncing motion of whatever you're carrying from turning into a leaver that will ruin your day. br>br>So far, it's done an excellent job. br>br>Make sure your RV Bumper is in good physical condition and capable of carrying weight. Not all of them are.
This bumper is compatible with the Jayco Eagle 314BH. Due to the fact that my Thule bike rack hitch post is smaller than the Swagman RV hitch, I needed this as well as a 1. Adapter for 5" devices It's easy to use, comes with everything you need, and it performs admirably. During a recent RV trip, my old hitch broke with bikes on it, so I purchased this new (Swagman) hitch as well as a 1. Both the 5" adapter and the filler block performed admirably for the rest of the trip and got us home safely. In the back of our RV, we loaded three adult mountain bikes. heavy.

It accomplishes what I had hoped for. It's on my four-post list so I can install and remove a power wench that's mounted to a receiver hitch. br>In this way, I'll be able to use it to tow a vehicle onto the lift. My issue is that the latch pin opening isn't standard, so a standard receiver hitch pin won't fit. I could drill it out, but for now, I'm just using a grade 8 bolt to keep the receiver in place while I use it. I also replaced the grade 5 mounting bolts with grade 8 because they didn't appear to be strong enough to withstand the elements. It should have come with grade 8 bolts, in my opinion. I didn't give it a five-star rating for these reasons alone.
This was purchased so that we could mount our receiver hitch bike rack to the back of our Hybrid Expandable Camper. The bumper was 4 inches square, and it fit perfectly. However, because there was insufficient clearance on the top side, I had to mount it on the underside of the bumper and move the spare tire holder to one end. I used an extended receiver hitch and a slip-over bike rack, which allowed me to extend the rack beyond the spare tire. br>It worked perfectly. I'll keep a close eye on the bumper's welds. It appears to be very durable, but I've read that some of the welds aren't as good as others, and that the weight of 3-pounds can cause a lot of torque. bikes parked 24 hours a day 30" from the front to the back.
