What is the size of the hole in the top open end?

I'm not sure, but they fit my 2000 chevy tk 4wd drivers side perfectly. The passenger side, if my memory serves me correctly, was a little more difficult to install.

It's better than the original

The units are identical to the OEM units in terms of fit and finish. With all the rust that comes from 20 years of driving, they were difficult to install. I had to use a sawzall to cut the hold down bolts off, but the units went on smoothly and perfectly after that. They appear to be made of a higher-quality material than OEM, which means they should last longer.

The only drawback to installing these is that your old ones will most likely need to be cut off due to rust.

I noticed that the unit's size was similar to the size of the shipping package, so I bought this one and another. I wasn't buying for a specific vehicle, but for a trailer modification, and a description that included the diameter and height of the bumper would have been helpful; otherwise, the unit was solid and well-made, and I would have been thrilled if it had fit my needs.
