I've had mine for a year and have been happy with it so far. On the non-rusting parts, there is some rust. My advice is to not use a rust preventative on the bumper before installing it. br>br>Not bad for the money; my original bumper was rusting beneath the Toyota chrome plating.
The tow bumper is made of a thinner metal gauge than the OEM tow bumper.
I know you can attach a trailer ball to it, and it appears to be constructed similarly to the original, but I'm not sure what the towing capacity is.
This bumper is made for 95-models that do not have Parking Assist Sensor Holes. Toyota Tacoma 2004

Installing it was a breeze, and it turned out beautifully. The only difference between the replacement and the original was the absence of a Toyota logo on the replacement.
My OEM bumper has begun to rust after 20 years of service. I really wanted to get an OEM replacement, but they're no longer available. So I bought this based on the reviews and was neither impressed nor dissatisfied because I know you get what you pay for, and I didn't pay a lot for it. It went on fairly easily, but you must keep the factory mount bolts for bolting the brackets to the frame because the ones provided with the bumper are incorrect, and I would strongly recommend replacing the bolts that bolt the bumper to the brackets because the supplied ones are low grade and will likely freeze in place and snap off when removed unless you live in Arizona or Southern California. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The chrome is already blistering off due to rust underneath it after being on for ten months, eight of which the vehicle was stored and only two of which it was used. When not in use, the truck is kept in a heated garage and washed every two weeks at the very least, but it is already rusting out after only two months of use. This is complete garbage, and I should have known better.
It was a long and arduous process to remove the old one (no dents, just a lot of rust from 16 years of driving on Maine's salty winter roads). The new bumper was easy to install once the old one was removed. The final product has exceeded my expectations. 240,000 miles left in the tank!.
As others have pointed out, the bumper that was shipped to me was clearly damaged prior to being boxed. One end was crushed, the plastic caps were distorted, the chrome was peeling off and pitted, the stock was thinner than the OEM part, and the tow ball hole was misaligned, and there were parts missing. br>br>Now, in order to return the bumper, I must first go to a printer to get a label printed, then repackage the box with my materials and deliver it to a shipping agent. I've lost time and money as a result of my trust. You've been given fair warning.
This bumper did exactly what it said on the tin. It came with a set of brackets that were not particularly good. Because the brackets that came with the new bumper did not line up with the bolts, I used my original brackets and bolts instead. Aside from that, the bumper was a great replacement for my old rusted bumper and helped to clean up the back of my truck.
I was very impressed and pleased with the shipping speed. Although the bumper is fine for an old junk vehicle in need of a cheap bumper, there was welding splatter all over the flat surface of the ball hitch area, which was difficult to ignore. The splatter had been chromed over, which was amusing. It doesn't line up perfectly, but then again, so does any non-oem bumper; the brackets welded to the bumper are about 1/2" apart, but they did bend in tight to the frame when I tightened the bolts, so it works. If you have a nice car, I'd look elsewhere; however, if your car is junky or in decent shape, this bumper is a good deal.
All hardware is included, and the fit is excellent. There was no damage to the package, and it arrived on time. Note: I'm not sure how well the brackets will fit together. I used the old hardware and brackets to install the bumper. Longevity is still up in the air. There were a lot of RAZOR sharp edges on the old bumper chrome. AN ISSUE OF SAFETY.
br>br>Ships QUICKLY; I received this item one day before the estimated arrival date. br>br>It looks good and fits well; now we'll see how long the chrome lasts!.
