Questions & Answers

How much is covered by this 2 gallon kit?

In my 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I used about half a gallon. But 100% of everything under the jeep or behind the doors I didn't get 100% of everything under the jeep or behind the doors I didn't get 100%% This year, I'm going to use black to make it easier to see where I spayed and where I didn't.

Is it also possible to use this to spray rust converter before using it?

It is determined by the viscosity. Woolwax is a thick substance that sprays perfectly with the gun. It will work fine if the rust converter you're using is thinner than Woolwax, which has the viscosity of a heavy latex paint.

What is the air compressor's minimum specification?

Woolwax® undercoating guns don't need a lot of pressure to work. The pressure should be between 70 and 90 psi. When it's cold outside, the extension wands may need a little more force. Even small compressors run at around 125 pounds per square inch. The tank size is more important; if it's too small, you'll be waiting for the compressor to recover all of the time. In general, any compressor with a tank capacity of 3 gallons or more will suffice; if the compressor is capable of spray painting, it will suffice for vehicle undercoating.

After each use, how do you clean the gun and nozzles?

Simply pour some solvent (paint thinner, acetone, etc.) into one of the nearly empty bottles and shoot it through the Woolwax® gun to clean it. It is also possible to clean with just water and dish soap. Woolwax® is non-hardening and will not cause problems.

Even a year later, it still meets my needs and expectations! AUGUST 25, 2020 UPDATE: br>br>It's been more than a year since I applied the Woolwax for the first and only time
5/5

Even in the middle of summer, the woolwax remains on the truck's underside. I do not use car washes to wash my truck. Only by hand or with a power washer is it cleaned. I can confidently state that nothing under my truck has rusted since I applied the woolwax. br>br>I've had some accessories installed on my truck, and the only complaint I've received from mechanics is that the texture of the woolwax is more like grease in the summer heat, which irritates them. They do, however, appreciate not having to deal with rusted bolts and nuts, and I plan to reapply it this fall just to be safe, as the mechanics wiped some of it off during some work on the truck. br>br>With the accessories they provide, it's incredibly simple to apply, and I'm very happy with the results and longevity of my initial application. This product is still one of my favorites. br>br>Original review: br>br>I live in the Midwest and have been unable to locate anyone who performs undercoating in my area. I wasn't willing to pay their price and try to keep up with their ridiculous demands for not voiding the warranty after researching the Undercoating company that begins with Z. br>br>I needed to undercoat my new truck and found this product with a lot of positive reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. Because my truck has a 6 inch suspension lift, I was able to apply this by simply lying down under it. I connected this to my air compressor and adjusted the nozzle to spray the desired thickness of coating in a few minutes. It was a piece of cake after I figured that out. I was able to apply it to the inside of the rocker panels, inside my tailgate, and in and around the doors thanks to the attachments that came with it. My truck had already been pre-drilled with all of the necessary access holes. br>br>I started doing this in the fall, and it's almost spring now. I crawled under my truck this winter to see how well it handled the snow, slush, and other elements. I couldn't find any evidence of the application being washed or rinsed away. My truck's entire undercarriage is still covered in paint. In addition, I no longer use automatic car washes that blast the vehicle's underside. During the winter, I only used my hand-held power washer at the car wash. br>br>I'm very pleased with how well it stayed on the truck throughout the winter. There are no signs of rust or corrosion that I can see. The woolwax has remained tacky, almost like a tile adhesive. br>br>I expect I'll have to reapply it next year because the rainy season and warmer weather will likely wash it away. That suits me fine. I have a Silverado double cab with the standard bed, and I only used about half a gallon to coat the underside, rocker panels, tailgate, inside of doors, and door jamb areas. I also sprayed behind my fender well liners, which I had removed. br>br>In my opinion and experience, this is extremely easy to use and has met all of my needs and expectations without requiring me to jump through hoops in order to maintain a warranty. br>br>I'll keep using it on my truck, and I'll also use it on my wife's new car when she gets one.
