It's fine to lay under a car with the can horizontal and spray it UP; just make sure to get at least three cans, which is how much I use for my truck's back wheel wells.
It was just over 4 square feet, according to my measurements.
That's what I'd like to believe.
I've never tried it myself. However, one of my coworkers said it worked well on the wooden deck of his bass boat.

I spent around $200 on this stuff for the underside of my Silverado, and most of it has come off. Even after putting it on a lift and sanding and wire brushing the entire underside, it still peeled off with normal use. I don't live near any roads that are particularly abrasive. On this one, 3M has let me down big time.
On a 1986 pickup truck, this product quickly removed some wheel wells. I thoroughly cleaned the area, masked it, and sprayed it. Because this truck isn't used frequently, I didn't do much prep work, but the undercoating seemed to adhere well to the various surfaces I sprayed it on. It's fairly simple to achieve a consistent finish, and it looks fantastic.
Line X in a can, if you will. It stands up well to salt and rock damage, as well as road wear and tear. Because of shrinkage, it takes several coats to achieve the desired thickness. Wear old clothes and bring some lacquer thinner (NOT PAINT THINNER, it won't cut it), as well as a few rags. Because the tip sprays a pattern similar to spray paint, make sure to mask off anything you don't want to coat first (it can get messy)! To the touch, it takes about 30 minutes to dry, and a full cure takes about 24 hours.
That was not the case. Outstanding value for money. With a high-pressure wash and a little rubbing with a wire brush, I did a decent job cleaning the areas under the truck. However, the clean is excellent. This was sprayed on, and it hasn't come off yet. It's on, protecting the underside from the South Dakota humidity and salts, which is exactly what I wanted it to do with gravel roads, rain, and other elements. Too many of the vehicles here look as if they were hacked with a sawsall and have rust all over them.
This was purchased to protect the chassis of my Jeep Wrangler. I purchased two cans, which were simple to install. I didn't have to worry about too much overspray because I could precisely direct the spray. It was sufficient to use two cans. I haven't noticed any rust or other deterioration, so I guess it's working!.
Urethane is a material that is made up of two parts. I recommend purchasing a 2-pack if you want something stronger that dries faster and lasts longer. An undercoating gun is used to apply a two-part bedliner kit (coating and hardener). Otherwise, something in a spray can won't hold up to flying rocks as well because it never gets really hard; otherwise, the spray can would dry up.
This undercoating was used on a 56 T-bird. The 3M filled in the covered areas where the earlier applications had flacked off on a bird that had previously been undercoated. Thank you for producing a quality product at a reasonable price. LC.
The resolution is 3M. It was used to coat some step-by-step instructions. On my truck, there are a lot of ups. The paint on their aluminum was peeling. A brief self-assessment It looks brand new after a few coats of this and a power wash at the car wash. It doesn't get any simpler than this. There was no sanding required, and the result was a nice matt black finish.
