Questions & Answers

When buying one, how do I know which one to choose? So far, I have only seen Fine and Medium grades. What is the difference between a black car and a white one?

If you are using a glove for black, use soapy water when you use it. Using the medium glove will remove contaminants faster, but you will still leave swirls on black cars. own the fine one, and it's worked for every car I've had to do. Does not take any longer to work than regular clay.

Is it possible to find out how long this mitt will ?

In the past two years, I have done a thorough inspection of my two cars at least seven or eight times, and so far it still works perfectly. After giving it a good scrub with a few drops of dish soap, I rinse well, and the surface becomes When it doesn't stick to itself anymore, you know you have to clean it.

Are you able to use any car wash with the mitt to lubricate?

It is possible to use the mitt but I would make sure that the mitt is thoroughly cleaned before using it. Just as effective and far easier to use as a clay bar.

Do I have to wash my car if it is clean and I use this with a lubricant?

The answer is yes, as long as it is clean, as in it has been cleaned. If you use a clay pad, you should avoid any loose dirt that may scratch the paint.

You have to follow the instructions for it to work
5/5

My advice is to speak only about the results I experienced when I used this mitt because there are many ways to go wrong when claying and cause more damage than good. My experience with the fine-grade version of this mitt on a small car in a moderate climate was excellent. I used CarPro Immolube, which might be the best clay lube on the market (tried it). Claying removes metal contaminants from the clear coat, but often leaves deeply embedded objects behind. When I follow up with an iron remover solution, I am sure to effectively remove all the metal contaminants. There is not much clay in my life The procedure takes place once a year or so, and it's nearly always to get the area ready to be polished with my diamond abrasive. Each time you use clay, you are marring the surface at least to a certain extent because it is an abrasive. It's not so hard, except that I haven't given up yet. I have tried several brands now and have no complaints except that the process is cumbersome and time-consuming. It really takes care of that problem when you wear the mitts. I have had great results with this mitt in particular. It wasn't difficult for me to remove the contaminants I could detect fairly quickly, and then the IronX spray took care of the embedded residue. There are three points to keep in mind if you are new (2) If you do not put enough lube on your car, it will rust. The product is an abrasive, so you'll need to handle it carefully in order to get the best result. Don't leave it in the sun on a hot day for God's sake. You'll end up with a really messy mess if that happens. Another reviewer stated it would melt the clay side. It also means never letting the car get hot while you are claying! Unless your vehicle is cool, you'll end up in hot water. (2) Do not make the following mistake when washing your mitt after each use Whenever you wring it out, make sure you don't twist it because if you squish together some parts of it, it may permanently damage the tacky surface. If you want to wash the mitt, do so, but no matter what you do, do not wring it out or pat the tacky side with towels or anything else- A big mistake has been made here. The very reason I need to purchase a new one is because of this issue. Yes, we should live and learn, right?.

I am impressed with this product
5/5

This mitt is much easier and more comfortable to use than clay, so I'm quite impressed. I was skeptic when I first heard about using it instead of clay, but now I think it's a great product. While clay would have to be folded if dropped (the same process if rinsed), this mitt can be rinsed and kept working. In addition to this, you can feel the contaminants when you go over your paint. And, I think the best part of it is that it lasts for Though I would argue that clay bars always perform better, I found this mitt to be very close with much less effort and time. I would highly recommend it!.

A good alternative to traditional clay, but not as good as it was before
3/5

The product worked once, I threw it in the trash after having good results. A very fast way to decontaminate your car virtually all the way is by using the method described above. All the way to the end. To remedy trouble spots, I still used a fine grade clay. It is the way this pad needs to be lubricated to do its job well and not leave behind residue that is my biggest concern. There is no way to do that. Clay lube costs 35 bucks, so instead of a regular clay bar, you get 10x more clay lube. The reason it went in the trash was because of this. I figure in the long run I would save money if I did not use I would say that it's faster than traditional clay bars when it comes to time. The surface residue luckily came right off of my hands and my pads when I polish with a DA machine. In my opinion, it is good, but I personally don't like it. There is no substitute for clay that I know of.

This is a much better alternative for conventional clay bars
5/5

In the case of my wife's 2019 GTI, I used the Fine Grade Mitt in conjunction with some Car Pro Iron X before claying. This made it easy to remove any decontaminants before sealing Using this product after having washed the car after the Iron X and then using the Adams quick detailer (Pink Stuff), I washed the car again. I noticed some contaminants in the paint despite the car only having 2500 miles on it. It did an excellent job nonetheless. The medium grade clay mitt would probably be best suited for a car with a lot of miles on it. Despite the fact that I'm a weekend detailer, I've found it to be very easy You should definitely try it out!.

This is a time saver like no other! In fact, my daughter and a friend were using a can of white spray paint in my garage when they decided to complete her project for the last week of high school

I have my Mustang next to me. So I had been thinking dust had gotten into my clothes, so I decided to wash it off. Pollen and dust are not the only causes of skin irritation. All parts of the car were treated with white overspray, from the rear bumper to the front bumper and everywhere This one caught my eye online yesterday, so I thought it would be a good idea to try one before I spend my entire weekend using a clay bar and really like this product for washing cars. I used it with Chemical Guys Mr. Pink soap and the paint didn't get damaged. During the 40 minute wash and dry, an all-day job became an hourly task. After months of hard work, I have returned to a smooth paint job and headlights/taillights. Ultimately, this device saved my life (in many ways. I love it).

As soon as you figure out how much "glide" to use, you'll get great results
3/5

This product does a great job removing all of the paint from my new car with very little effort. You must learn to do this -
You leave streaks of the black sticky stuff that is made of when not enough of the "glide" product has been applied. It might be difficult for you to get off that one. I am trying to keep it on my hand as it is just an extremely large rectangle but it is still The one I own is worn out, but I would like to buy another once it is gone but I could use more specific instructions and a.
