For my headlights, it was perfect.
Normally, I'd get a 3M headlight restoration kit just to have the 3" drill adapter and polish pad for my car. The 3M kit costs around $30 and comes with just one adapter and pad. I looked for a better alternative and discovered that a 3" polish kit could be purchased for $15 at a retail store, but it only came with one adapter and three pads. br>br>With two adapters and a large stack of pads in various configurations and densities, this kit was a good deal. It performs admirably and has allowed me to save a significant amount of money.
I rarely write reviews, but I have to say that these pads offer the best value for money. They're incredibly simple to use and well-built. I say this because I had a mother's brand polishing pad before I bought these, and the mother's brand had already begun to deteriorate after only a few uses. This orange pad, which I mostly used on my headlights, is still in good condition, which surprised me given how much pressure I applied to it. I assumed it would be a one-time use item, but no, the velcro stays intact even when you try to rip it off. I hope this information is useful to any of you who are considering it. Don't hesitate to take them. You will not be disappointed with your decision.
I didn't want to use my large buffer because my car had a few minor scratches. These can be connected to a cordless drill and will complete the task quickly. To get rid of these annoying scratches, I started with the softest pad and worked my way up to the harder ones. I finished the project with light compound and wax, and the pads I used were washed in warm soapy water and looked brand new. br>I'll also use them to refinish the Corian counter tops in my RV, so these small pads will see a lot of action. br>I am extremely pleased.
Although this is not a 3M pad, it works well with 3M buffing and polishing compounds in difficult-to-reach areas. Although the pads are a little fragile and will easily cut on sharp corners, the end result is just as good as the larger 3m pad I use for larger panels.
I have a nice heavy, clear plastic face shield that had so many scratches on it that I couldn't see clearly through it any longer. It was polished to perfection with this set.
We bought these to use on our boat when it needed to be waxed. They're ideal for use with a corded drill. A battery-operated drill simply didn't seem powerful enough, but the pads themselves performed admirably, particularly in tight spaces.
