It is important that you thoroughly clean the surface you will be using Wipe New on if you want it to work well. In order to reapply it to your vehicle, it needs to be thoroughly washed as if it were going to be waxed. So if there is mildew or mold, make sure you clean it first with a mildew remover. If you had to remove the bugs and tar on your car before applying wax, would you do so? Neither the exterior nor the interior of my car contain metal parts. I've only tried it on plastics and vinyl. The application should be made on an extremely clean surface. Wipe new does a decent job of cleaning, and I mean scrubbed, wiped, and dried. Unless the finish has totally cured, the car should remain in the garage for 48 hours and not be exposed to the sun. I know the directions say 24 hours, but if the finish has not cured completely, the sun will ruin it. In spite of using it on 2 cars, I would not If a mistake is made, it is unforgiving. My recommendation is to buy 12 oz of your favorite exterior treatment and reapply it as needed, based on the cost, surface prep and application restrictions.
I'm not sure how well I would do. It might be easier to get the smaller spots by using a sponge or rag you can wrap around your finger.

This product looks great after being applied for the first time. I had it on for a couple weeks, and then afterwards we got a rainstorm. Now it is stained with spots and streaks.

My expectations were greater than I expected, though the final outcome mostly met the claims.
