Questions & Answers

What can I do after treating my shoes with sno-seal? Can I polish them afterwards?

In short, yes. Listed on the container are the following instructions You can maintain high gloss and color on dress shoes by applying regular shoe polish over SNO-Polish The seal"

Is this suitable for use on the ?

There is no silly question here Since Sno-Seal is a bit less expensive, I was considering using this product instead of another that is marketed to be applied to feet (yours, your pet dogs, and your horses). As a result, we have decided to use another product that is not labelled as non-toxic A toxic substance/food Grade level On Amazon, you can find Musher's Secret. As far as I'm concerned, Musher's Secret does work very well for human hands and feet or even for skin and hair in extreme environments, to protect against prolonged exposure to water, snow and ice or to soothe and protect chapped skin. Musher's Secret has also worked really well on the leather I use in my pants, boots, belts, etc. To recondition and seal.

I have a basic boot that is 8 inches high. If I coat my boot with 7 oz of Sno Seal, may I do so as often as I like?

While I do not know, I would guess at least 20 or more There are probably 30 of us. It only made a small dent in the can after I wore two coats with 8" boots.

Waterproofing used in Pacific Northwest and Alaska dates back to the 19th century
5/5

Timber cutters and construction workers throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska initially used this waterproofing system. Silicon aerosols got a bad rap because people got lazy with them, and I see Kiwi has a competing product that is distinct from what silicon aerosols do, and which does not To get Merrill Mocs warm up for a winter in the Pacific Northwest, I put them on the radiator on a damp towel and wiped them down with Sno-Seal in a damp Placed the heater in your room, then used a toothbrush to get the creases and cracks sealed with Snow Seal. Once they had been soaked with sesame oil, they were put back on the heater. Rewarmed them, then used this final Sno-Seal before buffing by hand. Wore them through 40 consecutive nights working on a winter roadway, with rain running off my coat on them. Standing in puddles for 8 to 12 hour shifts. They stayed dry! It was possible to use a drying tree and a second pair of boots without any additional assistance. I have never seen a pair of Mocs as clean and supple as when I first bought them. Neither Silicon spray nor Kiwi can compare. SnoSeal is a great product!.

I am happy with how things are going so far
5/5

With the help of a blow dryer, I just put this on a new pair of Thoroughgood work boots. To give you an idea of the color change (darker pair on left after one coat of wax), I've posted this picture. It is my hope that this will prevent paint and tar from penetrating the leather, and I will be able to clean it of such staining materials.

Even dress shoes would be great with this stuff
5/5

Using this stuff on my dress shoes has been a great experience. A picture of my two daily cups of coffee and tea is attached After applying snowseal and placing them in the oven (170°F) for a few minutes, I'm able to wear my shoes again. It appears that the brown shoes are a year older than the black ones and that they have dry, cracked spots touching where the shoe bends (at In addition to restoring suppleness, the snowseal has also eliminated those bare/dry patches Those look like good spots, and I'll take care of making it safe for me to stroll around You can also find Obenauf's Leather Oil on Amazon, which is advertised as being able to restore and protect fine leather articles. I've used the Obenauf Leather Oil on dress shoes, and I was not impressed with its ability to repel water. Compared to snow seal, snow seal repels.

It's messy, but well worth the trouble
5/5

This product helped me keep my knee-high boots in good condition. As a result of the few times they had been exposed to snow and rain, they were starting to look dull and discolored. This item went on sale and had many positive reviews, so I decided to purchase it. Due to a lack of desire to deal with the mess, I was not able to use it when I received it. Finally got around to using it and ended up being disappointed that I hadn't done so earlier. The first thing I did was to warm up my boot with a hair dryer. The wax ended up on my hairdryer, which became annoying because I didn't want it Since the product is room temperature, I just applied it. Unfortunately, I did not think about it and had the ceiling fan running and another fan running, so it was probably too cold. As soon as I had layered a few layers on, it was still sticky, so I used a blow dryer to help. The wax turned a little shiny because of this, so I used the same rag I used to apply it to wipe it around. There are no longer any sticky or tacky feelings. The socks are softer and look brand new. Granted, I got them as a Christmas present so they're not that old, but they still look good. I could test it out if it snowed. I have added It looked good on another pair of boots so I put it on there. Here are the pictures I took One of the right columns has been completed, one of the left column has.

The answer has stood the test of time
5/5

When I lived in the Pacific Northwest and cycled and hiked a lot in the rain 25 years ago, I used this stuff a lot. After a week of constant wetness, my feet were kept dry with this product. My Brooks saddle recently developed an abrasion on the underside, so I recently bought another can to treat it. After treating a few pairs of boots and a Leatherman case, I have since treated two more pairs. is a great way to waterproof, but will darken any leather it comes into contact with. I like it when a product and leather it is applied to are warm because it applies better. You can slice it across your face and have it soak in overnight. Wipe off any excess after you've let it soak in. You can apply it with this tip to make it last a long time. To smear it on, cover your hand with a sandwich bag or wear latex gloves. You will have a very difficult time washing your fingers off if you use your bare hands. When you use a cotton rag, too much product will soak into the rag, so you waste it. I am certain that this can could treat 50 pairs of boots, and I believe I will have it until the day I die, if not before.
