It ROCKS in my opinion! I'm in a wheelchair, so I used it to protect the interior door panels from scratches and scrapes while lifting the wheelchair into the car. My 2015 Honda Accord is scratch-free thanks to this product.
Steam is the most effective method for removing the film.
I'm no expert, but I believe the heat generated by the lights would be bad for the adhesive; it's extremely sticky, and I imagine the plastic would eventually start to displace due to heat, leaving a super sticky, messy residue behind that would be difficult to remove.
After 15,000 miles, the car looks as if it were protected by a stone shield. I was looking for a molded stone shield but couldn't find one. This appears to be a lot better, and I'm quite pleased with it.

The product does exactly what it says it will. It's a thin, clear protective strip with a low profile. My previous installation lasted eight years with no discoloration, lifting, or bubbles. This is something I recently installed on both my car and my wife's car. The installation instructions and videos are exactly what you need. on for instructions on how to install the product. br>br>My only other installation tip is to use a large amount of the soap/water solution. If you use a generous amount of the solution, you should be able to slide the strip into its final position and then squeegee it in. If you make a mistake, simply lift up one side of the strip and reapply with more soap/water. I was able to get rid of almost all of the small bubbles on each of the four door sill stips. Don't be concerned if there are any minor flaws or if any liquid remains under the strips. This will dissipate as time goes on. br>br>Be sure to use an alcohol-based cleaner to thoroughly clean the surface. To remove any debris or oils, use a water-based solution. Prior to installation, I double-checked each sale two or three times. This eliminates the need to remove the wet strip and read any debris before reapplying. I haven't removed any of the protective strips. br>br> As a result, I am unable to comment on any issues involving the removal or damage of paint. However, according to what I've read, it's compatible with exterior paint and shouldn't harm anything once it's removed. br>br>For the money, this is a fantastic way to keep a high-traffic area of your vehicle looking brand new. It's almost imperceptible to the naked eye once it's up and running. I will continue to protect all of my vehicles with XPEL products.
I had enough to cover three of the four doorsills, though not as thoroughly as I would have liked. br>br>Easy to install using the installation video on YouTube; however, when removing water, do not apply too much pressure to the squeegee. The tape will be torn or gouged as a result. br>br>Instead of rubber, the squeegee is made of a hard, sharp plastic. Instead, use a silicon rubber edger.
Use a blow dryer or a heat gun to dry the hair. PRO: 1. br>br> It's long-lasting, universal, and can go on pretty much anything.
2. The package was well-packaged and arrived quickly.
3. It'll work fine once you figure out how to set it up. br>br>CON: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is not the place 1. br>br> It comes in a roll that is all crumpled up. To get it to lay flat, I had to put it under some very heavy items overnight. Even so, it'd bend over.
2. Because the paper backing is easily removed, take care not to get it dirty.
3. NOT ENOUGH; it should be at least two feet longer. OTHER: br>br>OTHER: OTHER: OTHER: OTHER: OTHER: OTHER: OTHER 1. br>br> Use water and mild soap to clean the surface.
2. The surface should be completely dry.
3. Once you've double-checked your measurements, you're ready to cut.
4. Place masking tape to the left and right of where you want this to go to ensure that it is perfectly aligned.
5. It will lay flat* if you apply it and then use a blow dryer or a heat gun.
6. Smooth it out and get rid of the bubbles with a window tint squeegee. br>br>*Use a blow dryer or a heat gun; this material is heat resistant and durable. br>*Clean it with soap and water; DO NOT use a strong cleaner on it because it will loosen the adhesive backing.
I bought this XPEL PPF to protect my Tesla Model Y's aluminum front door sill. Prior to installation, you can easily trim the material with a sharp cutter and scissor. I used a mixture of Isopropyl alcohol and water to clean the aluminum door sill prior to application. After that, I sprayed the front and back of the strip liberally with a baby shampoo/water solution. Lifting and moving the strip became much easier as a result. While attempting to squeeze the liquid and bubbles, I applied extra pressure, which slightly stretched the strip. As a result, I had to lift and trim it a little to get it to sit on top. It looks great after 24 hours, and the PPF should last for many years. The only drawback is that the PPF is glossy, so the "Model Y" is hidden. The rest of the strip will go on the back door or the trunk sill, whichever comes first.
I wanted to protect the paint next to my pickup's plastic step guard, which was starting to wear thin as I got in and out of the driver's side, so I washed it off with Windex and dried it, making sure there was no foreign material to prevent it from sticking. It lasted about 2 weeks and was also effective as an anti-fungal treatment. After a few weeks, I noticed it started to peel on the edge, as if my foot wasn't fully secured on that foot guard. It's possible that water intrusion caused the adhesive to fail. br>br>Eventually, it began to rip and tear, and now there are bits and strips where the stickiness performed admirably. I only have about 18" left, and I'm not sure what I'll do with it. It conforms to the contours of the vehicle's frame and looks good once installed. Try it on a brand new car and see how long it lasts.
Where I have concerns about this product is the length at which it is sold. 60- If perfect fabrication is assumed, inches equals 5 feet. If you own a truck, you'll be able to do 1'- 6" in front and 1'-" in the back If you can cut this perfectly, 0" in the back. This leaves no room for tolerance, and depending on wear patterns, the threshold may not be covered entirely. It would be fantastic if this product was available in six to seven different colors. feet in length to allow for some error while still providing adequate coverage. Apart from that, this product matches the color of my truck, and the texture keeps shoes from slipping on the waxed paint.
My car door sill had tiny spots of surface rust from small pieces of metal shavings that fall off my clothes when getting in and out of the car, which I noticed one day while working at a custom fabrication shop. This item aids in the prevention of rust. When you need to bend or do anything else, I recommend using a hair dryer. So far, the product has proven to be satisfactory.
