Long-Term Corrosion Inhibitor, Wd-40 Specialist, 6, 5 Oz
This Corrosion Inhibitor's formulation aids in the lubrication and protection of metal parts against rust and corrosion.
When used indoors, it can last up to two years, and when used outdoors, it can last up to one year. The formula adheres to metal, shielding it from air and moisture.
Recommended for preventative maintenance or protection in corrosive environments such as hot, humid, or cold environments, as well as wintery climates.
The included Straw creates a precise stream of lubricant for controlled application and secure storage, and it fastens to the notched cap.

Questions & Answers

What is the coverage rate estimated to be?

almost ten square feet of coverage It sprays out in a heavy stream rather than a covering spray pattern. I discovered a better product called mavcoat steel shield in a larger can that is less oily and lasts longer. It covers a larger area and, after a few hours, begins to dry.

I need to spray/treat rust on a body panel that is difficult to reach - If I sprayed this product into my body panels, will it work?

If you use a straw extension, it will definitely work. After two years, the interior of my rocker panels looks brand new. After you've sprayed, drill a couple of holes and plug them.

Is this going to work? Is it possible for the d40 product to penetrate the seams?

Sure, it soaks to some extent, but it's thicker than standard WD-40. 40 or the penetrant version of the same. You could use something else if soaking into seams is a priority for you.

Has anyone tried it on painted surfaces over a long period of time? Is it going to harm the paint?

I've never seen or heard of this product causing damage to firearm surfaces, which aren't coated with traditional paint. This product has only been used in that way.

I got this to possibly replace RIG grease for use in protecting firearm barrels from rust, which is a big problem in the deep south, and it works great
4/5

So far, it appears to be top-notch in terms of rust prevention. br>br> I put this, RIG grease, and Hornady One-Step to the test in an unscientific manner. filmed in December, when it was cold and rainy. Hornady One-Shot has been soaking wet for the past five days. On the second day, the shot that had aced other online tests failed. Only RIG grease and WD-40 should be used. Rust is being prevented by 40 LTCI specialists (see photo). The WD-type appears to be the most likely candidate. However, 40 LTCI is beginning to fail. RIG grease has not a single speck of rust on it, despite being on raw iron that has been almost completely submerged in water. br>br>It gets sticky, according to some people. This does not appear to be the case; instead, it appears to be a typical grease-like substance. br>br>There are two issues: 1. The propellant in the can is way overcharged; it's impossible to dispense it without exploding it, so it ends up all over the place and in excess. And, two, it seems to me to be way overpriced. The can is so small in comparison to all of the other specialty products that it's almost comical how small it is for the price they charge. When you consider that a large jar of RIG grease costs about the same. I'll be difficult to persuade to change.

It does exactly what it says
5/5

This is what I use on my RV's high-exposure areas. I primarily use this for rust prevention in areas that are prone to rust, as the best prevention is to ensure that any rust is removed and properly painted. However, some areas, such as scissor stabilizers and areas exposed to road debris, are simply too small to be painted. For me, this is where this product comes in handy. Because I didn't have time to properly fix it in one instance, I simply sprayed it on the affected area to prevent further rust, and by the time I returned to it, the rust had almost completely disappeared. I let it sit for a little longer because it was more of an eyesore than a critical component. It nearly removed all visible rust after two weeks and protected the part even in dusty and arid environments. It didn't appear to be completely dry. I was blown away by it. This will be used for removal, prevention, and a quick fix to keep the damage from getting worse until it can be fixed properly. Overall, this is a good product, though it is a little pricey. How much a 6. is worth will be determined over time. The overall value of a 5 ounce can will be determined by how long it lasts. It's very effective in terms of efficiency. I would suggest it.

Last but not least, a second WD- I like number 40 because it contains some fantastic material
5/5

I was afraid I'd overspend on this small can, but I'll pay it forward once more. br>br>The first scenario. I was fantastic on old rusted locks that regular WD-40 couldn't touch. With 40, it was a challenge. br>br>Due to the humidity in my safe, a few of my firearms became rusted. After spraying this on and letting it sit for a few minutes, I was able to clean and spray the rust away with Break Free Gun Blast, and it didn't react negatively with Break Free CLP. br>br>I bought this to use on my RC cars, which I race in all kinds of weather and conditions. I'll have to go out and get some more, Daniel. This tiny can won't last long, let alone get us through the winter.

WD40SP is a corrosion inhibitor that lasts for a long time
5/5

I bought seven corrosion-preventive spray cans and sprayed them all on clean steel. WD40SP and CRC Zinc were the only two that lasted the entire year; the rest rusted like plain steel. Corrosion-resistant X appeared to cause rust and was even worse than bare metal in terms of corrosion. WD40SP is a corrosion inhibitor that lasts for a long time. It's also the one to get if you don't want a zinc finish.

This is a fantastic product for securing your tools
5/5

This stuff is amazing; I've used it on my table saw blades, tools, and 12v switches, and it's fantastic. On the items I've sprayed, I've had no more rust issues. I sprayed a 12v On/Off/On bilge switch that was refusing to work at all, and it now works fine and hasn't given me any problems. My table saw is kept in my open garage, so I keep a close eye on it for rust. I live in Louisiana, which has extremely high humidity. I noticed some light rust forming on some blades I had stored on the saw, so I sprayed them with this product and wiped them down. If you have tools in your boat, that was over a month ago and there hasn't been any sign of rust yet. Give them a shot and a good cleaning. There will be no further issues. This stuff is fantastic, and I strongly suggest it.

I used this on a screen door on my three-season porch, and it works great, but it's pricey
5/5

It's impossible to turn the door handle because it always freezes. With just one squirt of this, rust poured from the door handle, and it hasn't frozen since. The only drawback I can think of is the cost; I was expecting a standard 11 oz WD-40. I should have read the description more carefully because this is only a 6. 5 oz. I may not be able to repurchase this item in the future due to the high cost.

I'm not a fan
3/5

Because I live in New York, car rust is a major issue. I bought this because I noticed rust starting to form under my rear doors. This product hasn't really impressed me; it doesn't seem to have slowed down the rust, and it has left a strange dusty film that won't come off. I do not suggest it.

creeps for long-term protection and coverage Splatters on in small drops with a lard-like texture, but spreads out over time to cover entire surfaces
5/5

The film is durable enough to stay on tree saw blades even after they have been used. Rust (or anything else) won't stick to it. Even with the coating, the tools are easy to grip and control. It worked wonders on my old stump. In a few days, pull the chain by covering all of the links. This product provides the same long-term rust protection as the original WD-40. For rusted nuts, 40 worked perfectly.
