I bought it to put a set of Clean Air Vehicle HOV stickers on because they're the "self-adhesive" type. When you need to get rid of them, you can "destruct" them and leave a lot of adhesive and residue behind. I can remove the stickers safely and quickly with this 3M film, leaving no adhesive or residue behind. br>br>I simply adhered the stickers to the film and cut around them to achieve a perfect fit. Then, using some slip solution, remove the backing and squeeze out any remaining solution beneath the film with an old credit card. It's the ideal answer!.
Because my '17 WRX doesn't have provisions for a "regular" bolt-on roof rack, I used this to protect my paint for a clamp-on roof rack. It was incredibly simple to apply and barely noticeable, even for someone who had never done it before. I didn't use a heat gun to get it to conform, so I can't advise on that; however, I tried using soapy water and found that it made it more difficult to place (probably because it's such a small piece), but it pulled up easily enough for adjustment without losing stickiness. Last but not least, there was a small amount of air underneath it, like micro bubbles that I couldn't get rid of. They vanished after a few hours in the sun.
This was purchased to protect my bike frame from leaning up against bike racks and the inevitable nicks and scrapes that come with metal U-shapes. locks. My top tube, down tube, and chain stay (standard 2 in steel tubing on my bike) were all covered by the 6 x 25 inch roll. And there was still enough left over to use for cable rub spots. I'm glad I didn't overpay for one of the pre-ordered items. Bike-specific protection films should be cut. Instead of having to apply an ill-fitting border, I appreciated being able to cut the film to fit your frame. pre-fitting cut film. With liberal amounts of a soapy water solution, it was simple to apply. I didn't use any solution for small areas (cable rub areas) and simply stuck it on with no bubbles or wrinkling. It's barely noticeable once it's on, and the thickness is thick enough to protect against everything from minor dings to serious scrapes.
I used it to keep the hydraulic lines from rubbing off the paint on the hood of my tractor, and it appears to be a good product. It was simple to set up. I hosed down the area where the sticker was applied. It's best if the application area is wet! Water aids in the placement of the sticker as well as the removal of any air bubbles. br>I'll update my post once I've had a chance to use my tractor for a few hours. Because the hydraulic lines are attached to the hood, it will take a long time to see how well this product performs.
This was purchased to go with my EV vehicle's California HOV sticker. I didn't want the California HOV sticker's adhesive to damage my car, so I purchased this to place the HOV sticker on top of, adhering it directly to my car with 3M Clear Bra adhesive. This is the ideal size (6"x25") for the three stickers required by the California Department of Motor Vehicles in order to legally drive an Electric Vehicle in an HOV lane as a single occupant.
It's extremely long-lasting, transparent, and easy to work with. shticky. I used this stuff to protect my personalized license plates from wear and tear caused by driving and the elements. It's just the right size for standard license plates. When it arrived, however, I was disappointed to see how small the roll was when I opened the packaging. Because the item description said "bulk," I assumed I'd get a larger rolled-up sheet of this stuff. I'll make sure to read descriptions more carefully in the future so I know what to expect, and yes, I'd buy it again.
