Questions & Answers

What would this look like on the chassis of an automobile? Is it necessary to acid-prep the metal, to prime it, or to paint it?

(I have black and will put it on a suburban frame)! I have used the silver and it works great! Brush on and then wipe loose material off (wire brush) It seems to work best with two coats. I haven't used it with the metal prep but have heard it works a little better with it. Congratulations! Good luck with your project!

What is the finish of this product? Is it flat or matte?

None of our coatings are matte. All of our coatings are glossy.

The product can be used on a ?

*br>Yes, BlackShell is a super tough, glossy black protective coating and top coat that can be applied over painted or unpainted surfaces and used as a stand-alone protective coating to protect your assets from damage. You can have rust and corrosion protection that's stronger and more chip-resistant than ever with BlackShell. Use it as a topcoat over the patented Standard or Automotive Formulas to create the most armor-like protection ever created.

In what ways are rust bullet automotive and blackshell different? Can both ?

This is *br>BlackShell, a thick protective coating and top coat with a great gloss black appearance. In addition to being able to be applied to painted or unpainted surfaces, it can also be used as a protective coating by itself. The best way to solve the problem is to apply BlackShell as a topcoat over Rust Bullet Automotive Formula to create the strongest armor tough, most chip resistant protection against rust and corrosion ever created. Rust Bullet Automotive Formula can be used as a stand-alone coating as long as you are OK with the finish of metallic gray. Rust Bullet Automotive is UV resistant and does not require a top coat unless you want to change the appearance of the coat.

It is very versatile as a primer and a topcoat
5/5

The metal on my car was bare and winter was approaching, so it was crucial that I did the small car repair I had to do. In my opinion, the small size of the can meant that there would be minimal waste, and it's one of the few (maybe the only) products that can prime on the first coat and top on the second. Applying this stuff with a tiny brush, I made sure to keep it raised above the surrounding colors. As far as I know, this stuff went on really well and looks really good. I've had it for a few months now and it's worked very well. The results are pleasing to me. * * By the way, I kept the can opening free of paint so that I was able to EASILY replace the lid and lock it in place. To my knowledge, that is a first in the realm of such products. It will keep for a long time, so I won't need it again for awhile. You're even better than that!.

Bicycle components can be repaired using this tool
4/5

Opening this up for the first time will result in disintegrating the can. You'll need a second container to dump the contents You should have something that can be resealed. Using a few old peanut butter jars, they work pretty well. Unless Rust Bullet finds a better way to sell this stuff, at least in small quantities, than cans, this stuff should be sold either online or in store. My repair of scratch and rash damage on bicycle parts has been enhanced by this stuff. Derailleurs, brakes, levers and crank arms with this finishing are nearly identical to those found in SRAM or Shimano products. A long time is needed for the cure to be complete, but the finished product is exceptionally hard and durable.

I suggest you give it a try! That's a thick coat of Does a good job of covering this topic
4/5

It should be thinned even though the directions state not to. In my experience, a quart goes a long way, so I did the bottom of my K-cup It's a 10 short bed and rear frame that's unthinned at the moment, so I've bought another to work on the fender wells and under the frame.

I liked it so much I bought a second quart of it, thinned it with acetone to about 20% and mixed well, covered well, covered two kettles at the same time I still have 1/3 of the mixed left over after I've completed 10 splash guards and both fenders. Storage is decent, but add 5% acetone to bring back viscosity This product is great. I will buy another and share pictures with you when I complete my project.

You can use this product well if you know how to use it
3/5

I have used several cans of this stuff to paint over a repaired area under my 1999 Dodge van. As well as painting the wheel wells with the black shell product, I also painted the corners. The product went on easily, and the initial look was In the end, I discovered the entire coating was pulling away from the wheel well after a year. Upon contact with Rust Bullet, I inquired about it, and they said that shouldn't happen, and I may not have prepared the surface, or perhaps I applied the product I pulled off all the paint, washed the surface with metal blast and soap and water, and then coated the wheel wells with automotive rust bullet in silver. It remains to be seen how well the silver coating adheres now, but I've never had a problem with it peeling off before.

I think this was the best paint that I have ever used
5/5

To keep my SUV's frame from rusting, I used a product that is apparently the best. I like the grey color and the design is easy to read The use of. With black sheath you're protected from UV rays and look great. I have tried many paints over the years, and none of them have lasted on my hands for more than three weeks when rested There is soap and water, and there is fat on the body. I just used an engine ceramic paint, and my hands are free of body fat and both washing residue after a week. Hopefully will last at least a few more years.

A batch of metal handrails I installed (in March, 2016) are showing signs of rusting already
4/5

In order to protect them for a long time without retouching them every few years, I searched online for paints that can protect the handrails and last for a long time. My search led me to Rust Bullet products and I decided to give it As for the price, it is not as cheap as you can find at local stores or big box chain stores (such as Loews or Home Depot). The products I applied to my porch handrails a month ago and to the rails in my backyard 3 days ago are the same ones I applied to the porch handrails. As per the instruction, I lightly sanded the surface of the hand rails then used a tag cloth to wipe it clean. After that, I applied Rust Bullet Standard Industrial Strength Rust Inhibitor to the rails. I applied a second coat of Rust Inhibitor six hours later. Then I topped it off with eight hours of sleep The surface is treated with Rust Bullet BlackShell Rust Preventative. So far, it seems to have held up pretty well. I had not expected it to be so good. Until I know for sure in one year's time, I won't know much more than I do now. Only thing I don't like about it is that it dries up fast in temperatures as high as 70 degrees. As a result, I must pull out a small portion at a time and use a lot of paint brushes at the same time. Painting brushes become useless when they are dry and need to be replaced as they become useless as paint dries on them.

It is a great product
5/5

Don't wait until the . Wear gloves if you want to protect your hands. We really liked this product. If you don't want to sand it, wear gloves and don't wait to paint again until the next day. If you wait too long, you will have an easier time chipping it off. Using the silver rust bullet is a good idea if you have a really rusty surface. It requires 2 coats of each and is nearly indestructible. The brush or the gravity feed gun should be used to apply the sealant. The liquid paint flows out with a brush rather nicely, and has a nice run, covers easily in silver, black takes two coats to cover.

Because it is better than anything you can buy in a store, I like Rust Bullet paint
5/5

Over the past couple of months, I have used this to paint over my rusted This paint has a much thinner consistency to see if it'll adhere better and look good for a longer period of time. In addition to painting the rusty area, I'm also using the thinner paint on things that were black before but are now rusty. The frames of motorcycles, the covers of car starter motors, and the like. It is possible to keep a tiny can sealed from air if you find a way to do so. If I re-use a can, I place a plastic bag between the lid and the can If you don't seal it, it will go into place. You don't want a black spot on your skin for two weeks if you used this to paint your face. In the morning, if you go to bed with it on, you won't be able to remove it with any type of cleaning agent.
