Is this product suitable for use with dtm primers and paints, such as por- ?

I'm afraid I don't know. I needed something to remove rust from some metal bottle openers, and Whink (my go-to product for years) had failed me, so I ordered about 5 or 6 products from Amazon, each of which claimed to remove rust from "ANYTHING." Obviously, none of their claims were true, or else I would not have ordered so many different products in the hopes of finding one that worked. What's more, guess what? They all failed to outperform vinegar and salt. I recommend contacting the manufacturer of this product; I am very old, but I have found 99.9% of the time. 9 of the time they will have someone in house who will answer any questions you may have and most likely give you information you didn know you needed to know. From Atlanta, GA, best of luck!

This is what I did with my car. I intended to cover it with paint, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. The rust converter developed an orange color over time. So, what went wrong?

It's referred to as a chemical reaction. It's a scientific question. as well as atoms The seal coating on the converter is not permanent. At the very least, two coats are required. It appears that some of the coverage was inadequate, and you are now experiencing rust.

Follows the instructions! I just ordered my second bottle of this excellent product
5/5

Before buying the full amount, I wanted to try it out first. br>br>I'm removing a black metal fence from its foundation. It's 14 years old and has a few rust spots on it. I used a wire brush on my angle grinder to knock off loose paint and remove any loose rust; I'm about halfway through the first bottle and have completed about 40 feet of fence so far. It appears to be quite effective. In fact, the product performed better the worse the rust was (within reason). Some of the rust on my car is very superficial, and it hasn't turned completely black. It turns rust into a hard black coating in areas where it is more pronounced. br>br>It's simple to put on. My application was done with a small paint pan and a one-inch brush. It has something to do with the consistency of Almond milk, for example. It will drip, but I didn't have much of a dripping problem because I didn't overfill my brush. It will take time to see how long it lasts, but my initial impression is very positive. If the product's long-term performance falls short of expectations, I will update this review.

Save your rusted car! It's not rust repair without this stuff if you want to do it right
5/5

In tighter areas, I also used rattle cans, which worked very well. br>br>This stuff is incredible. After thoroughly cleaning both sides of the rust, apply it to the thicc af. I used a foam paintbrush, which was very effective. You can watch it rust blacken right in front of your eyes. br>br>The next step is to: Allow time for it to cure, then sand it down (where there was no rust to convert). For later adhesion), epoxy primer, fiberglass, etc. , 2k clear, undercoat, inspection passed. Boom. iiiit is where we are.

It's really good! This is the way to go because the product is excellent, the customer service is excellent, and the shipping time is excellent
5/5

I used it on John Deere plow rims from the early 1900s. This plow dates from the 1940s and has been stranded for years due to flat tires. I removed the rust scale with a wire wheel and applied it liberally. The rims had brightened, smoothed, and turned black by the next morning. The only places where the coating appeared to be thin were where I had removed all of the rust. Overall, I am very pleased with the product and will continue to purchase it for future restoration projects.

It's the best, and it's simple to use
5/5

I've been using this product for at least 20 years on a variety of projects, some of which seemed hopeless at the time, but which were saved thanks to this converter. Anything looks good with just the black coating, but I've painted over it, used bed liner over it all with great success. From rusty drill pipe, any type tool, tractor buckets, butane tanks, just run a steel brush over it, then brush off any dust that's left or not, then a coat of this, depending on the weather, another coat a few hours or a day later and the rust will never reappear. I haven't tried the other products, but I can't imagine how they could be any better or easier to use. Also, a quart goes a long way.

When compared to Loctite, this extends
4/5

This month was the first time I used it, and it appears to be killing the rust. I've been using Loctite Extend, which does a great job of rust conversion, and I'm hoping the Gemplers will do the same. Because the converter's viscosity is lower than that of Loctite, I'll have to use it in 9 months, whereas Loctite has no shelf life.

It works great, but WARNING: BE CAREFUL! I used this on my lighter Subaru after testing it on other products and darker vehicles, and it's a fantastic product that you won't find anywhere else that won't rust
3/5

I always made sure to clean around the rust and sand the area if necessary, as well as clean up any excess gemplers. When I used it on the many places succumbing to Subaru's rust disease, I was surprised to discover the next day that anything that wasn't rusted (and I had kept my brush clean) had turned into a dark cement-like paint. It didn't seem to do this in other vehicles, but maybe I wasn't paying attention or didn't notice because of the dark colors. With an industrial brillo, I spent a long time removing the cement-like gemplers varnish from the areas that weren't rusted. I'll have to clear coat those areas now, because it appears to interact with it as well. To begin with, the car did not have a particularly appealing appearance. It looked a lot better after that. will prevent rust, but in the future, I'll use masking tape or make sure to wipe up more thoroughly.

The outcomes were incredible
5/5

The rust on the bed of my 1971 IH pickup truck was treated with this product. I sanded down and scraped off some surface rust with a wire brush. I used a regular paint brush to apply two coats of Gemplers rust treatment after thoroughly cleaning the dust and grime out of the bed. Just 5 minutes after applying the first coat, the rusty areas started to darken. I let it sit overnight, and when I woke up the next morning, the whole bed had changed. The images are self-explanatory. This product did slightly discolor the existing paint that I brushed it over, so use it only where you know you'll be getting new paint. I only used about a quarter of a bottle of this, so I have plenty left over for other projects. I am very pleased with the outcome and would strongly recommend this product.

Meteorites are being preserved
5/5

Until I looked up how to preserve ancient iron on the internet, I had never heard of such a thing. I received a video from a man who was preserving antique horseshoes. I needed to keep a 300 BC iron war blade from flaking away, but I didn't want to use chemicals or electrolysis on it. The Gempler's worked well for me. It blackens the metal, but I decided to try it on some iron/nickel meteorites that were showing signs of iron powdering, and it appears to be working there as well. I don't like how it turns these artifacts black, but if it keeps them from flaking away, it's just the new patina.
