In many ways, it's like a filler and sealer rather than an adhesive. It fills spaces well and remains flexible, but it's not nearly as sticky as some adhesives. It would be perfect for filling any spaces that remain once the parts are attached with something else. However, I do not think it is possible to attach them by themselves.

It definitely cures like a rubber, so it should work fine for that. In the past, I have used this product to repair tiny holes in a fabric convertible car top this way.

In order to repair an Audi valve cover I had to cut off the 8mm bolt holding one of the coil packs in place because I screwed it up by putting too much torque on As a result (I tried to drill it out, but ultimately just bought a used cover for $50 and chalked it up as a lesson I thought perhaps I could get by without the sealant since not one was used at the factory for this model. This is incorrect. I decided to try this a second time and fingers crossed it will work. After I was told to wait 72 hours, I was very careful to wait it out. It may seem overly cautious, but I guessed that, with temperatures in the 30s and 40s, drying would be delayed, so it was most prudent to leave things out. The situation has so far been good. It's been almost four months.
A great product for solving oil leaks on older gaskets, this RTV glue works well against oil and other penetrating solutions. The glue is very strong and does not easily break down.
