The differential cover is a good idea in my opinion. Using it for the front timing cover of a Cummins 5 was a good decision. The turbocharged 1995 Dodge PU had 9 liters of petrol. This worked great because I used a very tiny amount, so that I did not have any excess squeeze out into the engine. Almost 12 months have passed since this was written. This is what you need!
The caulking gun is what I used for it
On the short, half-moon edges, place a 1/8" bead while on the longer edges, place a 1/4" bead. Stack bolts in staggered rows and torque to 18 ft/lbs. It is best to apply RTV to the pan with the engine out of the truck and upside down to prevent contamination of the sealant with oil. Set 4 x 8mm x 1 as a temporary installation. It will take around three minutes to install the pan once the sealant is applied, for maximum adhesion. There are 25 guide studs to help in the installation of the pan. 24 hours should be enough time for it to cure. A seal job will lose its life expectancy if it is done in any other way.
In fact, it's the same as what they use at Ford dealerships.

In my capacity as a Ford diesel technician, I became familiar with this product. This stuff can be used to assemble a complete vehicle. I used this product to seal the flashing around our foundation of our house 20 years ago, and it is still as strong as ever, despite exposure to sun, rain, and snow. As well as the Oil Pan and Differential Covers of the Ford Powerstroke engines, this assembly is sealed from the factory with no gasket. Although all the bolts can be removed, the covers must still be pryed.
I am so impressed with this stuff. There is no way to remove it with acetone. Fuel dripped from pinholes in the bottom of the fuel tank due to a damaged fuel tank. Although there was a lot of fuel and dirt in the tank, the rtv stuck to the bottom, stopped the leak, and the tank is now leak-free. For the time being, this will do until a new tank can be There was enough medicine in one tube to treat This engine is a 3L The oil pan, plenums for the intake and fuel tanks have been repaired, and there is still a little more left.
Since I began using it, it has become an indispensable part of my life. The surfaces must be clean and dry, so that the seal will take effect. You should beware The parts can be removed after they have cured, but it can be rather tedious.
There is a cover behind the flywheel for the output shaft and one for the oil seal. I have not encountered a leak after months on the road.
The one I purchased was just enough to seal the oil pan and one in a half plenum. I'm glad I got two! To be on the safe side, I would order 3 of these silicones if you are resealing the timing cover, oil pan, and plenums.
I now have a fixed oil pan! It was perfect. I had a leaky oil pan on my 2015 Ford Edge Sport I read the forum, someone had used it. As long as it is still under manufacturer's warranty, I took it to the dealership. As I printed out a copy of the page on the forum, they used this RTV on the new oil pan they provided, without any.
Gasket applications can be handled with this stuff 99% of the time. As a rule of thumb, I don't use pre-forged gaskets when I have this on hand. It says ford, but I used it for a bunch of things in the past.
I've used them all. Brings the deal to a close. Prices are kind of steep, but you don't use it much. As if it were something fierce, it sticks.
