Questions & Answers

When using Three Bond to seal engine cases, what is the maximum cured operating temperature?

I used it on an air cooled motorcycle and rode it all summer as it performed well. I didn't see any max temperatures on it, but I used it on an air cooled 900cc motorcycle and it worked fine.

Is it possible to seal a plastic gas tank with it?

Any gas tank that needs sealing will be sealed by Seal All. You can find it at Amaxon. Three Bond is the sealant that I use to seal 2 stroke engine crankcases and other engine parts without a gasket. I wish you the best of luck

Is this safe on a crankcase made of aluminum, in other words, does it not corrode?

Aluminum will not corrode if it is used with it

How will it perform in the primary case if it gets inside? Will it gum up or will it break?

The glue dries hard, is not fragile, and will not gum up. Since the last leak on my transmission case over a year ago, it has not happened again.

Bond 1184 is issued in three amounts
5/5

As a replacement for the 1194, which had too much solvent for individuals in California, this is the new version. In reality, it also works just as well and is an excellent professional grade product. I use it for many sealing jobs in my role as a professional master mechanic but mainly for gasket deletion.

This product seals reasonably well, but its consistency is extremely The goop works great on gaskets, water pumps, front covers, oil pans, thermostats, etc
4/5

The only problem I have with it is that it is very thin. HondaBond is my normal bonding product, but I ran out in the middle of my project, so I purchased this because it's supposed to be the same as HondaBond. It is definitely thinner, but I agree that it's fair. In the past, I found it very difficult to apply evenly when I laid a bead because it would run and drip. When I pulled the tip away from the part, I got a spiderweb of product that I had to clean up when I pulled the tip away. Leave it in an untidy state if you don't want to risk it As it is chewed up, it will drool. The material is not as adhesive on certain types of rubber and plastic, so make sure you check how it works before applying it to those materials. However, I think it is not very user friendly, but it works okay. Because I have never had any of the issues described in the HondaBond article, I plan to switch back as soon as this tube is completed.

As a final step, I brushed it on the edges of the crank seals, ensuring they were sealed well.

Has the ability to do what it says on the tin
5/5

My first time with Three Bond products was not different from previous ones I used, but is identical to Yamabond I have previously used. For the dirt bike case on my son, I used a light coat of glue to seal the halves together. Rubber gloves are recommended when smoothing it out. The seams sealed up without any problems. The pipes are not leaking!.

Getting clear liquid out of the tube was difficult
3/5

Be sure to squeeze tube until it becomes gray. A couple of vent caps for small plastic gas cans (2 gal. ) were made out of it. When using it for the first time, squeeze a bit of fluid out of the tube. Before you get the actual sealer, you get just a clear liquid. Unlike the second one, which was sealed well, the first one leaked because of inadequate It was necessary to purchase the whole tube and I only used two small squirts from I hope it lasts for a long time?.

I really like this - works great A sticky situation
5/5

The tool was useful when I was removing the gasket from a saw cylinder. I have never had any problems with this product. However, because it is so tacky, it tends to get everywhere.
