Yes, as long as the substrate is free of contaminants. Please double-check that blue is the desired strength rating, as it is one of the weakest "less permanent" gasket makers.
You must use caution when applying this product because it hardens quickly. Make sure you have a rag handy because this is a very messy job. I believe I may have overdone it. I'd use it a lot less often. There are videos on YouTube that demonstrate how to do it correctly. You can inspect the top of the valve, but removing the gasket without damaging it may be difficult. Cleaning the gasket would be more difficult than replacing it. It shouldn't be necessary to take it off once it's on.
RTV silicone is designed for use in automobiles and trucks; for use in a home or portable water system, you'll need to purchase a user-friendly silicone.
It is, indeed, blue in color.

water sealer of the highest quality - I am a hose repair specialist. dripping taps Fill in any water-filled holes. Hose connections with a diameter of 2 inches must be sealed. This is an excellent tool to have in your toolbox.
It was used to supplement the new silicone valve cover gasket on my 2003 Toyota Corolla. It's difficult to squeeze the tube (a lot of strength is required) while keeping your hand still enough to apply a straight line of material. I found it easiest to use sliding clamps to gently apply lots of pressure to the tube to squeeze out content so I could focus on the precise strain line. The steps are: clean up old gasket materials (this took me days), apply to up-side of tube (this took me days), apply to up-side of tube (this took me days), apply to up-side of tube (this took me days), apply to up-side of tube (this took me days), apply to up-side of tube (this side-down cover, insert gasket, clean excess with acetone, apply another layer on top of gasket, place on engine, hand tighten bolts, and after 1 hour, torque to packaging specifications. All 10mm bolts are used on the 2003 Corolla S, with the following torque specs: 2 centered bolts = 96 INCH lbs, perimeter bolts = 80 INCH lbs (note: one unique bolt on the driver's side-most front; This bolt is designed to go through the engine shroud. Wishing you luck and a lot of wrenching!.
Although I'm aware that this can be used as a stand-alone gasket, I've never done so. To help a hard gasket seal, I've always used a very thin application on both sides. That's how I've done four water pumps, and they've all worked out beautifully. But make sure you follow the instructions. It's recommended that you apply it, install the parts, lightly tension the bolts, wait an hour to torque them to specs, and then use it for 24 hours. Also, take care when storing it. Close the lid tightly and seal it in a ziploc bag with all the air squeezed out. Will last a year or two in the fridge.
I've been using it for years and have always been pleased with the results. br>br>The "Adhesion" star rating above should probably be replaced with "Sealing Ability" or something similar, as that is the main purpose of this product; however, YES, it adheres very well to almost any clean and oil-free surface. a blank canvas.
This gasket maker is one of my favorites. I used it to seal the sink edge by dabbing some under the lip. This is an excellent product.
I saved a buck by not buying it at the store, but I had to wait for the gasket anyway, so if you need it right away, go to the store.
It worked perfectly and kept the pan gasket in place above the pan.
Unlike standard silicone gaskets, this one takes longer to dry and dries to a harder consistency. It is still flexible, but it is noticeably stronger. It was simple to use and worked well.
