Among other things, I applied Meguiar's "Swirl Remover # 9" to my 2007 Escalade with white diamond tri-coat It is important to coat the Due to aging, this WD3C was given a beige appearance. The one I received was extremely ugly, and I am not sure if it was the intense solar heat in Arizona or Texas, where it spent equal amounts of its life, or the air pollution it has been exposed to that caused it to discolor. (It is most likely just a problem with this coating that GM applied to the vehicle). Cadillac owners farther north have reported the same problem. In addition to the #9, an orange applicator pad and a random orbital buffer, I also used a brand name. Since I am not a professional, I thought that starting with a fine formula would be a good place to start. Using the #9 compound did dramatically improve the appearance, but in direct sunlight, it still appears beige, albeit perhaps not as intensely as it had been before the buffing/polishing procedure. When it is cloudy or dark at night, the finish appears As a final step, I used the same machine and a black pad to apply Super Hard Shell wax. It is wonderfully shiny and the water beads up on its surface as well or better than any other wax I have Yesterday I saw a '02 Suburban that was Shasta White when I first bought it, and it remains just as stark white as it was when I first bought it. Additionally, the #9 did an adequate job of removing some minor scratches, but not those that were deeper. Because there were no swirl marks on the finish, I can't verify the effectiveness of #9, but I believe it would be very effective unless the person who did this buffed the car
After using a heat gun to remove the pinstripes, there was still some glue residue left. A Meguiars combo kit (ultra cut, polish and wax) with the correct pads and an orbital polisher was used. I saw no pinstripes on it and it looked brand new
The M105 really works. I also used the M205 on my Cadillac and they removed some pretty good scratches. There's no need to use anything else -- it works that well.
My car, which was painted using spray cans, was recently painted. On top of the color coat, I used a 2 part clear After sanding the clear coat with 800 grit paper, 1,000 grit, and 2,500 grit, I used video guidelines to choose the appropriate paper size. My finishing and waxing steps included using Meguiar's rubbing compound, then their polishing compound, then their waxing compound. In my case I chose to learn by doing, so there is one thing I can tell you when sanding or using rubbing compounds, make sure you take care around the edges or any part in which There are a few places where I have burned through the clear coat and paint several times. When it comes to flat surfaces, it appears to be less of a problem. The polisher should be kept moving at all times and merely applied light pressure. The tool I purchased at Harbor Freight is a dual action polisher. Using the dual action polisher prevents it from damage the paint, but if you don't use it properly, it can still go through. Invest in the right pad for the compound you're using as well. If the scratches are light and the swirl marks are not too severe, you may want to try a polishing compound first, which is less abrasive. The paint and/or clear coat is in less danger of being damaged. I apologize for the long reply, but I only wanted to touch on as many points as I could. Hope you have a successful run!

There is nothing like it on the market. It is my third bottle of it and my third bottle of It is possible to turn bad paint into something beautiful by using a power DA and some of the best cutting pads. You can see what this product can do in the before and after photo below.
It was the best product I have ever used. In spite of the fact that I am by no means a professional auto detailer, this was the first time I had ever used this product. It took me three nights to complete the entire car and, as you can see, the end result was nothing short of breathtaking. Because I wanted to reduce swirl marks and holograms on the entire car, I chose to do it by hand As a result, it did take quite a while longer than I expected. In my Honda civic hatchback, I noticed the entire car was faded because of the sun. Meguiar's applicator pads and moderate pressure while working on each body panel one by one. The only problem I had was that it was rather hard to remove after it got on the car (I recommend using a damp microfiber towel to mop it off). I used a touchless car wash to finish all my work for the night. As part of Day One, I completed the doors, roof, and Finished the rest of the car (hood, bumpers, and side skirts) on day two. After some touch ups and a good waxing, I touched up the spots I missed and then waxed the car with carnuba The pictures will show what the before and after looked like.
My experience has been that using it with a rotary with a wool pad will get rid of heavy swirl marks and random deeper scratches at the same time in about 4 or 6 passes at speed 1600 to 1800 RPM with some pressure on the first couple of passes and their weight on the last couple. I used the rotary blade today at a speed of 1400-1600 RPM with a foam cutting pad on the rotary at a speed of 4 to 6 passes like before. My swirls came out pretty well and I am pleased with the overall result. I have also used this with cutting foam pads on the dual action polisher and have had great success removing heavy swirl marks. It did not seem to do as well with deeper scratches as the wool pad did at least not without submitting to heavy pressure during the process. In our case, we still used 4 to 6 passes, with heavy downward pressure on the first three passes and light downward pressure on the last two or three Using this technique, the finished piece actually turns out pretty well, and hardly any polish is needed afterward.
I am pretty certain you could use it well, even if you used a polishing pad to remove real light swirl marks. You can finish off by using light pressure for a couple last Being that this compound uses SMAT abrasives (the abrasives don't break down) this allows for the product to cut really fast and may require fewer passes than products that use DAT abrasives (abrasives that break down over time). It really does take less time and effort to use the wool pad.
It does dust a bit if you use it. Unfortunately, this usually occurs when there is too much pressure on the wool pad coupled with too much heat being You can mist a bit of water on the paint area if you feel the color is getting a little dry after a few passes to reactivate it. I have not experienced nearly the same amount of dust with foam pads when I use the rotary tool. Although dusting is pretty good with a dual action, it can be a lot better with a single action. It doesn't affect the finish on the paint or the performance of the compound in any way. The versatility of this compound makes it great for a variety of uses. Depending on how bad your paint is, the hardness of the paint, and what you consider good enough, you may choose different methods.
Seeing my boat this year and seeing it almost white made me really sad. I tried the old rubbing compounds in the past and I did not see any point in going through them again. In the end, I purchased a Harbor Freight Bauer DA polisher, orange pad, the M10532 Ultracut compound, and M6332 Flagship Premium Marine Wax for 79 dollars. I have two pictures that tell a Make sure your DA is set on low speed at all times so that it keeps cutting and keeping the compound wet. A moderate amount of pressure was all it took and no more than three passes were necessary to bring it Customer Service at Meguiars responded very well and suggested that I use the M6332 as my sealant and protector afterward. The sentiment is exactly the same to me. Steps are to use a terry cloth wash cloth and the 105 for a first pass by hand if you have a little arm muscle and lots of oxidation. You will get a lot of oxidation off and keep your Compound Pad cleaner on subsequent For a buffing pass, you only need about three 1/4 inch dots of the 105 on the pad. You can keep your pad clean with a nylon bristle brush as you go. Keeping the pad cutting well helps keep it in good condition. In order to get rid of caked on the pad, wash it in the sink with Dawn liquid and then dry it. 105 works in no time, so you will baffled how amazing it is at restoring your boat's beauty. It will make your boat look like new in no time. Ensure you buy a Microfiber Cloth pack as well. To remove the 105 and Marine Wax, wipe these with a cotton cloth. You can apply it to any surface and it My experience is entirely new on this, but I'm finding these products really do work. It is my pleasure to commend Meguiar as they have created an excellent product, one that is simple to use, easy to remove and creates an incredible sheen!.
