Questions & Answers

How long should I leave it on the car before wiping it down with a microfiber cloth?

This is an abrasive product that can be wiped off once you've finished polishing your car. It's not like a sealant, which requires hazing. To get the best results with this product, I recommend using a DA polisher.

Here we have a weekend warrior/enthusiast. Is it possible to achieve paint enhancement with a white (light/medium polishing) foam pad?

Fiberglass microns The most aggressive foam pads are white, followed by orange for medium cutting, yellow for polishing, and black for light polishing. glaze. A red waxing pad is also available for purchase.

Is this product suitable for use in hot weather? Last weekend, I used a different scratch and swirl remover, and it dried up far too quickly, despite the fact that the vehicle was in the garage. ?

Yes, going in the heat is a good idea. It's not the best way to use it, but it'll do and it won't leave the circles burned into the paint like Maguires 201 does. This will work great in your garage; I simply covered mine with a tarp and had plenty of time to work.

What if you wanted to clean stainless steel on a grill with this method?

This is a car paint that has been specially formulated. It'll most likely fail miserably.

Light scratches and swirls are easily removed with this product
5/5

This was used on my two-year-old truck to remove minor scratches and swirls from quick car washes. With the help of a DA polisher and this correcting cream, I was able to remove the minor flaws without removing too much clear coat. It was necessary for me to go over the deeper scratches twice. It took three attempts to get them out, which was to be expected. This product gave off less dust than others I've tried. This is something I would recommend to anyone with a newer or well-maintained vehicle. The more aggressive Groit's Garage Fast Correcting cream worked wonders on my older neglected car, but it removed more clear coat, so stick with this product if you have minor defects and you will not be disappointed. FYI: Allow this to warm up for a few minutes before using; it will come out much easier this way, and it is best not to use in direct sunlight.

Surprisingly enjoyable
4/5

I purchased two vintage turntables, one for use and the other for parts, both of which had cracked acrylic dust covers. I looked up some videos on the internet about how to clean them up. I purchased a McGuires product for headlight lenses, but it turned out to be a waste of time and money. I used toothpaste, but it only helped a little. I took a chance and decided to try this product after reading reviews on a variety of different products (see photo). I was blown away by the progress. Although it did not remove deep scratches, it did remove water stains and cloudiness, leaving the surface clear and shiny. Unlike other rubbing compounds, it also has a pleasant scent. I was worried that the pink would stain the clear acrylic, but it didn't. br>I'm not sure how well this works on other things, but if you need to refurbish a turntable dust cover, forget about home remedies, pagan incantations, and virginal sacrifices and get this instead. Sandpaper is the only thing that will remove deep scratches, but it may leave marks of its own.

That's not so good! My Tahoe's hood and some of the gel-coat have been done
3/5

On my Albemarle fishing boat, I'm wearing a coat. I was not impressed in the least. Griot's 6 was used to apply it. I used a 5 inch variable speed orbital polisher with an orange correcting pad, as well as a black microfiber pad. It was extremely difficult to remove the correcting cream once it had been applied, and the end result was far from satisfactory. I'm finding that a lot of these products only work on surfaces that are barely in need of a decent wax/polish job to begin with; anything beyond that is a waste of money and time. I ended up using some regular compound with ultra fine grit in it and it worked perfectly, completely removing all the blemishes and stains. Meguiars!.

It's a good product that's very creamy and stays in the mouth for a long time
5/5

Good product, very creamy and long lasting in the sense that a pad coated with it can be used to work a painted area for a long time without drying out, turning to dust, or losing its lubricity, and the compounded area can be easily cleaned up with a microfiber towel once you've finished compounding. I tried this Correcting Cream with both a positively rotatingly driven sanding/buffing machine [Festool RO125] that concurrently oscillates the pad and a 5mm throw random orbit sander after wet sanding away much of the orange peel in hardened clear coat auto paint, and it worked well in both cases. I was concerned that as an amateur correcting a mediocre professional auto body shop's repaint job, I would burn [cut or abrade] through the catalyzed clear coat finish that shop had applied over a metallic gray color coat base to blend the OEM and repainted areas, but I quickly learned that this Correcting Cream is not very aggressive in its cutting action, at least not with the tools I used, which included an orange foam pad from Griot's and a microfibre cloth.

This is an excellent product
5/5

My paint (on my 2015 Ninja H2) is a one-of-a-kind hybrid Kawasaki paint. There are several layers to it. One of the coats has a real(pure)silver undercoat. A clear and black undercoat has been applied to the surface. As a result, it appears to be a reflection. Millions of small spiderwebs were scattered across the bodywork, though they were not visible. But now I see how it was affecting the realism and beauty of the paint. I bought this polish in the hopes of getting rid of everything. And a 6' DA polisher from Griots. They were a perfect match. So far, I've only worked on the fuel tank, but this polish removed EVERY single small scratch and webbing from the clearcoat. She is absolutely stunning! This product does exactly what it says on the tin. Exactly. This set of products comes highly recommended by me. I bought the 2' set of plate and pads so it could get into the tight spaces where the other couldn't. They'll arrive the next day. Today I used the 5" set. Thank you, Griots', for this fantastic collection of items!.

This did not impress me at all
3/5

Some idiot scratched the painted surfaces of my black Mercedes E320 by dragging what appears to be a full cardboard box across the paint. There are deep scratches all over the place. I first tried Griot's Complete Compound and was blown away by the results, even though not all scratches were removed. I decided to give a more aggressive compound, such as this one, a try. I used the same buffer, pad, and technique as with the Complete Compound, but the results were far less impressive, so I returned it and replaced it with another bottle of Complete Compound, which I will finish tomorrow. I expected twice the results for twice the money, but they didn't even meet Complete Compound's high standards. I'm going to stick with Complete for the time being. br>Update for December 2020. I bought it a second time and returned it a second time; I've used this compound twice and still don't understand why it's so popular. I found it to be no more effective than Griot's Complete Compound, which is half the price, and I believe Complete Compound is a far superior product. Finish with Ultimate Polish for a stunning result.

That's some incredible stuff. After using the fast cutting cream, I cleaned the paint even more. I can't say enough good things about this. From beginners to experts, there's a lot to enjoy here. All pads are safe to use with this pad.

It's fantastic! I used a Porter Cable DA polisher for this project
5/5

My Cadillac Escalade is a black 2013 model. To treat severe scratches, I used this after applying the Fast Cutting cream. It's fantastic! I polished with a Porter Cable DA polisher and a white Chemical Guys pad.
