Questions & Answers

Is this filler completely transparent, or will I have to paint over it to get back to the original paint color? Thanks! ?

You'd have to paint over something because you'd be sending it with 300 - 400 words. You'd start with 700 grit sandpaper and work your way up to 2000 grit before finishing with this.

What's the distinction between regular and light cutting cream?

Amount of abrasives used for cutting

I'm curious about the color of the cutting creme. Is it the same color as the light cutting creme? Is it beige, as most compounds are? thanks! ?

According to what I've seen, the color is a very light beige.

Wow
5/5

I finally finished polishing the hull of our 23-foot Grady White Gulfstream this spring. I bought the Presta Ultra Cutting Crème, Chroma Ultra Polish, the corresponding wool buffing pad for each product, and a Presta flexible foam backing plate after reading a review on an online forum. I buffed the boat with a cheap Harbor Freight polisher in small sections from the rub rail down to the bottom paint and proceeded around the hull, starting with the Ultra Cutting Crème, then the Chroma Ultra Polish, and finally waxing it by hand with Collinite's Fleetwax, following all of the directions. br>br>Well, the results were AMAZING for someone who had never used a polisher before! The hull of the boat regained its luster thanks to these products. My mother, too, was taken aback. The boat had to be hauled to a marina for some mechanical work before it could be put in the water, so I drove alongside the boat hauler to the marina. I was able to drive alongside the boat on the way there, and I was astounded to see the car's reflection in the boat's hull. That's pretty good for a white-hulled boat, especially when it's from 1997! According to the online forum post, he was correct in that Presta products do not contain "essential oils or silicones" to give you a false sense of security. Because of the false sense of shine that other brands have, you'll stop polishing before you've actually polished anything. br>br>If a novice like me can get these results, so can you!.

For moderate to light oxidation, this is the best option
5/5

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so in this case. This is what I used on my ten-year-old boat, which I purchased last summer. The gel coat had oxidized and faded, but it wasn't chalky because it had a haze to it. I couldn't decide whether I should use 3M marine rubbing compound or their Finesse It II polish. Rubbing compound would have been too aggressive, removing more gel coat than I wanted, and the polish would have been insufficiently aggressive. It was the best of both worlds with this Presta Ultra cutting cream. I taped off two sections and compared the Finesse It to the Presta Ultra cream, just like the guys on YouTube do, and it was exactly what I expected. The 3M Finesse It revealed that I required additional muscle, which the Presta provided. Always begin with light duty and gradually increase until you reach your desired level of satisfaction. However, I will polish it with 3M Finesse It to add shine, but the Presta did all of the heavy lifting. As others have stated, it is a little pricey, but well worth the money. As others have stated, it does not require much wiping down after buffing, and the wool pad can be easily cleaned with a little Dawn and warm water.

It is extremely simple to operate
5/5

This is a fantastic compound. It is extremely simple to operate. There were no blotchy spots and it blended beautifully. It's something I can't stress enough. It's far superior to anything else I've tried. A new favorite has emerged.

This item is a little pricey, but it works for extremely stubborn stains when all else fails
5/5

On my white car, I'd amassed a number of "fly specs" - The Honda CRV is a compact crossover vehicle that was introduced in 2017. I tried everything I could think of to get rid of them, but it didn't work. I went to the local dealer's body shop in a desperate attempt to find help. He had a five-gallon container of this stuff, which he rubbed out with some elbow grease. This item is a little pricey, but it works for extremely stubborn stains when all else fails.

I have a 1978 16' boat that would benefit from this product
5/5

I have a 1978 16' boat that hasn't been buff or waxed in over 20 years! I expected it to take weeks to get the paint back in shape, but I quickly discovered that by following my wife's lead and applying a light coat of compound ahead of me, I was able to keep up and achieve a very nice shiny finish with very little effort! 7 hours.

This book comes highly recommended
5/5

For the past 30 years, I've been doing my own detailing and this is the best polishing compound I've found. It works well for swirl removal and doesn't necessitate the use of a professional orbital. It can be done with a standard issue random orbital.

Great results, and it only took a few minutes to restore the luster
5/5

It's simple to use, it doesn't dry as quickly as others, and it easily restores shine.

According to the Sea Ray forum, this is a fantastic item
5/5

I intend to use it to restore the appearance of my ten-year-old boat. br>Another forum user raves about this product and how it will transform the appearance of my boat. Before waxing, I'll give it a shot on my 12-year-old minivan. br>br>I USED THIS PRODUCT ON MY BOAT THIS WEEKEND AND WOW, IT WORKED BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. It removed some ten-year-old dings from the gel coat. Using a rotary buffer, it was simple to apply and work with the product, which was then easily removed with a fiber cloth once it had dried. THE RESULTS ARE AMAZING! After using this product and waxing it, the boat looks brand new.
