Yes! Either an orbital buffer/polisher or elbow grease will do the trick. This will suffice, and they will be gleaming!
It's not a good idea to use it on painted surfaces. Both aluminum and chrome are used.
If the surface is rough or rusted, they recommend using their "step 1" cleaner/deoxidizer first (works similarly to MX7, if you've ever used that stuff). The finished product is gleaming. It's been on my chrome and aluminum rims for a while now. Using step 1 only expedites the cleaning process.
Yes, this is fantastic material. In my motorcycle restorations, I make extensive use of it.

Also, make sure to start with the Deoxidizer! I found this on the internet and decided to try it out on my aluminum propeller spinners. Allow me to state unequivocally that this material is unequivocally true. up to par My plane is kept outside, and as you can see from the photos, the spinners get weathered, oxidized, and look pretty bad. Polishing shops charge me $125 per spinner to polish them, and I'm sick of paying that because the new shine only lasts about 6 months. I made the decision to take control of the situation. I've experimented with Simichrome and Mothers in the past. Both required hours of hand polishing, and the results were dreadful. With this two-part set, I wiped on the deoxidizer, waited a minute for it to dry, and then applied the purple polish. I worked on each spinner for about 30 minutes and they turned out perfectly. To complete the job, I used a third of a bottle of deoxidizer and slightly more than half of a bottle of purple polish. Here are a few ideas: br>br>1) A green liquid deoxidizer companion product is required (also available on Amazon). Without it, the polish isn't nearly as effective. 2) The purple polish is reliant on the abrasives suspended in it, which break down as you lightly polish; As a result, don't be afraid to use a lot of polish. It's enough to slather on a lot of it and rub it in with very light pressure until the friction disappears. You're done if there's no friction. You're no longer polishing, regardless of how hard you rub. Purple should be used liberally. Working in smaller groups (8 people) was also advantageous. Sections are approximately 12" x 4" in size. br>br>3) the sloppy application of polish will result in a plethora of black, goopy yuckiness. This is a positive development; You're getting rid of oxidation. Wear your filthy clothes and disposable nitrile or latex gloves, though. br>br>4) In addition to the application rags and first-pass oxidation/polish removal towels, make sure you have a good supply of clean, soft detailing towels on hand. The final buff with a clean towel brings out the shine. br>br>I'm a convert. $30 and 60 minutes saved me $220 - I'm a convert. I also have the option of retouching the shine at any time.
br>I've heard that the California Customs video misleads people about the ease and speed with which you can restore your piece. So, depending on how neglected your item is, your results may vary. My diamond plate had not been touched in 30 years, so it took longer than the video.
I did some research and came across a video of someone using metal polish to revive theirs; I was on the verge of replacing the cooktop and decided to give this a shot. After all, I couldn't do any more harm than I already had. I used a soft wool buffer pad and a low-speed drill to apply this polish for about 12 minutes, and the results are fantastic. The cooktop appears to be in excellent condition. I'm ecstatic and can't wait to get started. This stuff is incredible!.
On my rims, I've used a variety of polishes and compounds. I came across this product on Amazon and decided to give it a shot. Very simple to use; just remember to rotate your rag or pad frequently or it will turn black in no time! Leaves a nice shine and removes minor imperfections and water spots. This polish has left a lasting impression on me. I'm going to buy more. Chrome and polished aluminum are examples of materials that can be used to create this effect. In no way harmed the clear coat or marred the finish.
Use step 1 as directed and step 2 as directed in their YouTube video to make the most basic aluminum polish ever. Bam aluminum diamond plate is superior to new aluminum diamond plate. br>Do the same thing with "mill finish," and the lustre will be restored. I had to put "moms" on the shelf because of this amazing product. Sorry, mom.
I haven't tried all of the metal polishes out there, but I have tried a few. At the very least, it has to be among the top five. It is simple to use and performs admirably. Even if you don't think it's dirty (especially aluminum), it pulls out even more dirt and leaves a beautiful shine.
Purple nail polish is a must-have. I've tried a half-dozen metal polishes and this is my favorite; I own a detail shop and use it on a regular basis. It's something I've recommended to my clients, and they've all said it's great.
An aluminum toolbox for a truck is being polished. It worked to a degree, but getting off was extremely difficult. It only worked on the areas where I scrubbed really hard and applied a lot of elbow grease. It didn't seem to have much of an effect on the areas where I wasn't scrubbing hard enough, but it would probably work well with a buffer. However, if I had a buffer, I would not have purchased this item.
