Questions & Answers

How many times can this be used to cover an entire vehicle?

It depends on how much you put on your car. I've done both mine and my wife's cars twice and still have enough to do one more.

Is it possible to use this to spruce up a granite counter?

I just tried it on black granite, and it goes on smoothly and wipes off cleanly, leaving no streaks. I'm not sure how long it'll last if it's put to use.

Is it possible to use this without preparing the car in any way? To put it another way, after a thorough cleaning?

This product can be used immediately after a regular car wash. Methods of washing The car does not need to be completely dry, and the butter will help you achieve a beautiful finish. I'll express myself as follows: You don't want to get it on your car's black plastics, as it leaves a whitish smear that's difficult to remove, just like any other car wax. I have a black Camero that performs admirably.

Do you apply the wax before or after using the clay bar? According to their youtube video, they use the clay bar after they apply the wax?

If your vehicle is new or well-maintained, like mine, and does not have a rough feel after washing. This is something you can do right now. If your vehicle is older, a clay bar process may be required before waxing. If you rub your hand or a rag over the vehicle's finish, you'll be able to tell if clay barring is required.

It has a fantastic scent to it
3/5

It's simple to get rid of it. It has a fantastic scent to it. It's simple to get rid of it. After applying it, it looks fantastic. When I first saw the results, I was ecstatic, but when it comes to waxes, I'm all about the longevity. When you look at a picture someone posts right after doing the work, you'll notice that almost all polishes and waxes produce similar results. Don't base your decision on that. br>br>This stuff doesn't last long and isn't very effective at repelling rain. Perhaps it protects against the sun, but it appears to be nothing more than paint lotion. A good wax, in my experience, keeps your car looking new for a long time after you've used it. That is not the case here.

The product is diluted, weak, and ineffective
3/5

This is the third Chemical Guys product I've purchased through Amazon, and it's by far the worst! I'm not sure what other people have used in the past, but this wax is about as good as water. It's easy to apply and remove, but it doesn't have the same feel as a real wax job. When you run your hand over the paint after it has been waxed, it should feel slippery. This product does not give me that feeling; I've always used Mothers carnuba wax and wanted to branch out and try something new, but I was underwhelmed. Fakespot is a good tool to have. com, you'll notice that many of these reviews are fake, designed to make the product (and Chemical Guys in general) appear better than they are.

This is a show wax, not a protective wax
4/5

As a result, you'll notice that a lot of the negative feedback is about the product's durability. This is much more practical for someone who enjoys waxing their car and doesn't mind detailing it every couple of weeks; it's also great for a detail hobbyist because it's easy to apply and forgiving. Even when applied thinly and allowed to dry properly, some waxes put up a fight if not done correctly. This wax appears to tug on your removal towel on a regular basis, but that's about it; it's forgiving even if you overapply it because it spreads easily and wipes away easily. The results are good, as they would be with any wax product; the car looked like it had been freshly waxed; I hit a few black plastic trim pieces and they came off fine; it was easy on the windows, though streaks were visible. Nothing a second pass with a flipped microfiber towel couldn't fix. Despite my best efforts to apply it lightly, I believe I overapplied it. Bring extra towels because my removal towel was quickly covered in yellow residue. The car looked great after a final pass, but keep in mind that any wax will do the job. I bought this as a winter wax (phoenix), and that's exactly what it is: a low-durability, easy-to-use wax that won't build up and smells okay, chemically banana-like. I could see this as a great sealant topper for that carnauba look over a synthetic like many others. I'm sure you could get the same results for less money, but I like it for what it is.

Remove yourself from the situation
3/5

Ignore the five-star reviews; this is a terrible product! This is something you should avoid. It's simple to apply and remove, but if it rains, your car will turn a bright yellow color. It also doesn't last, and the worst part is that it attracts dust like no other wax after you've finished waxing. And I'm using the best anti-static microfiber towels available. This is a terrible product.

It is necessary to read. I drive a Mercedes S-Class in Lunar blue (dark blue). Turbo diesel, 2012, class I have to start here before I can comment on this product. About a year ago, I purchased this vehicle. It's an absolutely stunning automobile. When I got it home and parked it in the sun, however, SWIRL marks were all over the place! I was irritated to the point of indignation! My car needed to be washed, so I instructed the dealer to do so. I don't use polishing guns because I enjoy waxing and polishing my car, and the swirls are getting worse! AVOID MY MISTAKES FOR A BETTER WAXING EXPERIENCE BEFORE I GET TO THE PRODUCT. Here are the details: 1) Inform the dealer that all you want done is to have your car washed. These days, the person who prepares your vehicle for delivery is usually the same person who transports cars and places plates on vehicles for passengers to test drive. Do not put your trust in him when it comes to "detailing" your car. br>2) Because I was polishing with Polyester polishing cloths that felt "soft," my swirl marks were getting worse. E FLEESE is a brand of clothing that is widely available in big-box stores. DON'T EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER Worse, I'm 60 years old and was taught that after applying wax, you should let it haze for a few minutes before hard buffing your car to a shine, which brings me to my third mistake. br>3) Don't scrub your paint like you're scouring out a scrambled egg pan! br>Now for some advice: what are your objectives for waxing your car? Sure, you'd like it to be as gleaming as new. But what else is there? I've seen a lot of videos where people criticize this product for not lasting as long as ceramic sprays. I bought this product because I wanted a WARM and INVITING Carnauba wax shine that makes my paint look "show room" new, rather than a ceramic spray shine that locks in my paint's imperfections with an armor-like seal that looks like glass and lasts longer but does not ENHANCE the beauty of the color like Carnauba wax does. in the opinion of a newcomer. Hey there, video influencers under the age of 35! Longevity isn't the only factor that influences a person's decision to purchase a gleaming product for their vehicle! People go WOW when they see your vehicle with Ceramic sprays because it has a glass-like finish. People "GASP" and are taken aback by the beauty of the paint and "show room" shine with Carnuba wax, which I prefer. br>Now on to the product: Chemical Guys' butter wet wax is the BEST Carnauba wax I've ever used! Period! Carnauba appears to be more pure than the other guys; remember my SWIRL marks from these rookie mistakes? So, after purchasing Chemical Guys lube spray and clay and watching their video on how to use it, I sprayed and clayed my vehicle first; did the clay remove any dirt? I'm not sure because I kept dropping the slick clay on the ground. lol. This was, of course, after the vehicle had been washed. Then I used one of their blue applicator sponges to evenly apply the wax over the paint. No yellow wax buildup on one panel at a time. The spread is nice and even. I let it dry for 5 minutes just to be safe. (Old habits die hard) I then wiped the wax away with a Microfiber towel. There will be no maniacal buffing. When I was done with the car, I took a picture of it. THE MARKS ON THE SWIRLS WERE GONE! I checked the paint again at night in my garage with a flashlight. To be clear, the butter wet wax worked perfectly! Whooohooo, whooohooo, whooohooo Is it simply "hiding" my swirls? I have no idea, but I'll find out soon. I'll be happy if I get a month of this kind of shine! Waxing my car is fun for me because it gives me some exercise. If the swirls reappear, the chemical experts have a solution for that as well. I hope you find my review useful!.

There is a better option for a lower price
3/5

This wax produced some disappointing results. A Flex Long Throw DA polisher was used to apply it. It's a breeze to put on and remove. It's best not to use it on trim because it's difficult to remove it from plastic. There are simpler tech waxes that provide better gloss without the risk of ruining trim for the final results. It's a simple process with average results for a caranuba wax. Collinite 915 Marque D' Elegance Premium SHOW CAR Wax, Surf City Garage Hot Rod Protectant, Ultima Waterless Wash, Nanoskin Shock, and a few others are some of the products that can be directly compared.

Super gleaming and more protective than I had anticipated
5/5

br>Although this product is more of a "show wax," it is extremely easy to apply and remove, leaving a brilliant shine and a smooth surface. Even after a month in harsh winter weather, it had a nice beading effect, indicating that this wax has some protective qualities, despite not being marketed as such. This is a super simple wax to use if you're going to take the time to care for your car.
