Between the grit guard and the bucket bottom, there should be a space of about 1" in diameter. The sponge would fall out of this once it has been rinsed, removing all dirt and other debris. If you have a painted car, you want to avoid scratching it.
You must decide which bucket to use based on its particular characteristics. It would be best to get the guards first and then try them out with They are much longer than I thought they would be so they won't fit into the bucket/pail you usually use around the house (the short kind). The pails are large so that it fits in there. GRIT GUARDS are thicker than the kind you would find at a auto store*br>The THICKNESS of the grit guards Size 5 in.
Grit guards in standard size 3 are what I use. A 5 gallon container. The grit guard will fit perfectly inside a 5 gallon paint bucket with just a slight adjustment of the bottom of the guard. I see no reason why the grit guard could not be fitted in the

I would highly recommend it. The ones I use for my detailing company are great. To be honest, I expected them to be fairly cheap, so I was pleasantly surprised to find them on Amazon cheaper than anywhere else. There was something wrong with me! Each is made from a sturdy material, and they slide into the bucket easily. Thanks to the thumb holes, it is very easy to remove them. are hard to pull out with little effort, but fit snugly enough when you dump your bucket out, and stay in without falling out.
Even though they are great, you may have trouble fitting them into your 5gal bucket based on the type and size of bucket.
I would like to make a suggestion to you. If you are able to, take these guards to one of the big box home improvement stores and try them in different buckets that they carry until you find one that allows the guard to sit Be sure that there is no or very little gap between the sidewall of the bucket and the guard. This can cause the guard to float to the top of the wash or rinse bucket and defeat the purpose of buying it in the first place. However, I did buy these buckets for these guards in addition to not doing this. As one of my guards floated, I believe that the bucket was molded slightly irregularly. You’re all set with the golden tip. The zip ties should be tied around the outer ring of the grit guard at all three points closest to When the guards are molded, the zip ties will act as a spacer at those points where the circumference tends to pull in a bit. As for the size of the spacer, you can choose to use more or less based on how much space you want You're a genius! Unfortunately, I was not the one who came up with this idea.
The reviews might not be talking about the 5-star rating Buckets of five gallons. It is always recommended that you check the fit of the grit guards at your local home improvement store in any event. The Lowe's 5-inch height range is something I can attest to I threw away an entire gallon! Buckets--the guards fit snugly into the buckets and do not move even after being knocked around and shook around. I think this is a good product at a fair price compared with the options.
There is no problem fitting these in the 5 gallon buckets that are available at Home Depot and Lowes. Grit guards are designed to keep your bucket from bouncing to the top of the water, but if you've never used one before, you will be amazed at how much grime collects in the bottom of your bucket while you wash I have used them in extreme cold temperatures and have never encountered breakage. The plastic seems to be well made and decently thick, so I expect it to last a very long time.
For me, it was quite easy to switch to this two bucket technique after washing my cars incorrectly all my life. You can use this product in conjunction with low-cost Lowe's (blue) or Home Depot (orange) buckets, as well as a nice wet/dry wash mitt to stop scratching your car all the time. Cleanup is so easy, and storage is a snap as well since both can be stuffed inside a bucket (which itself fits inside another.
After that, I would place large shampoo bottles on top so they would dry the floor below them, or you could bring in anything else you need to drip dry in your bathtub However, if I had to hand wash my car, I don't know how I ever got by without one of these, since it's a simple and relatively inexpensive way of preventing the dirt and grime from reabsorbing back.
This product actually does what it says it will. The two buckets fit perfectly into the bottom of two 5 gallon buckets from Orange home depot. As I was cleaning my car, these grit guards kept all of the grime, dirt, and debris trapped in the buckets.
The two bucket method is how I wash my cars, one bucket for the wash and one bucket for rinsing. They are in the bottom of two buckets from Lowes/Home Depot. It was the perfect fit. Grit guards help prevent scratches on the paint surface by keeping dirt particles out of the wash mitt.
