Questions & Answers
It's made from a single thread that's been coated in a layer of metal foil.
I don't see why not; it's a high-quality thread, after all. The only issue I see is that the thread is twisting and possibly knotting.
It was necessary for me to go look for myself. I made a comparison between the white and the silver. Because it's metallic, the sheen gives it the appearance of being a very light silver. It will appear white once you've stitched it out; I hope this helps!
There are nine different colors to choose from, with the silver colors being standard 40 weight. The rest of the colored threads, however, are between 40 W due to the complexities of metallic embroidery thread production. to 45 W.

Metallic thread should be pulled off the spool horizontally and straight to avoid twisting, but this thread comes off the spool twisted and kinked even when pulled horizontally and straight. I tried a few different methods for running metallic thread, but none of them work with this thread. It kinks up in the machine and twists into knots even after being lubricated with thread lubricant. My VM 5200 has an automatic threader that can't even thread the needle, so I have to do it manually. Even when I remove it from the spool to unravel it, it kinks up again. I will not purchase this brand again, and I will most likely discard the remaining unused spools. I've seen videos of people running metallic thread with ease and purchased similar attachments and instructions, but the thread simply will not go through the machine without kinking. Even with the tension dialed all the way down, the thread catches in the machine and twists and breaks.
10/27/2019: This review has been updated. New Brothread responded to my review on Facebook, offering a refund if I deleted it and informing me that old batches of thread had greasy dirt on them, which had been remedied. I was uncomfortable with deleting the review without knowing if the issue had been resolved, so I requested that they send me new spools of the red and blue I was having issues with. They sent new spools of thread right away, but I didn't get to test them for a few weeks. I'm happy to report that neither color bled, and in a 4,426 stitch design, I had no tangles, fraying, or breaking, which was a nice bonus. I'm changing my rating to five stars, and instead of a refund, I'm going to request that New Brothread replace my other spools. br>br>9/12/19 original review: Until 10 minutes ago, I would have given this a four-star rating. Reading the reviews, I expected the fraying and breaking, but no one said IT BLEEDS! (And yes, it breaks and frays badly, even with a top stitch needle and slowing down to 350 SPM on both my Dream Machine and PE770. ) I just did a light mist on a neighboring piece of the wall quilt I'm working on, and this is the result. (It's worth noting that I bought this batch in January of this year. ).
I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS METALLIC THREAD! Metallics have never worked out for me. I like how it looks, but it breaks frequently, and my machine despises it. I used every trick I could think of. Slow your machine down, use a thread stand, and run your thread through a packing peanut (seriously!). Nothing worked, and the end result was never usable. br>Then I tried this Brothread metallic, and I fell in love! There were no thread breaks throughout the entire design! I only wish it had been a part of my project rather than a scrap of fabric because it looks fantastic! This thread is absolutely gorgeous, and the picture does not do it justice!.
I've tried a lot of different brands of metallic embroidery thread over the years, and I've always been happy with the results, and the price is unbeatable, so I'll be using it for all of my craft projects. br>On a single-person basis, I'm concentrating on my brother. Metallic threads break more frequently than rayon or poly threads when used in a needle embroidery machine - Because of the materials used in its construction, it is more brittle and prone to twisting. This New Brothread metallic, on the other hand, does not break as frequently as other brands. When I use the spool net (included in the box! ), I'm able to get a lot more done. ) and I keep an eye on how the thread feeds, I can keep it from breaking during a full color stitchout. Yes, it requires some attention, but all metallics do on my machine, and even with that care, some will break. This, on the other hand, has proven to be a successful strategy. br>It has a good amount of reflectivity, which gives it a metallic appearance. I'll return to see what else you have to offer.
I was apprehensive about using metallic thread, but I trusted New Brothread to deliver a quality product, and I followed all of the instructions that came with it. I slowed down the machine and used the provided thread nets; I didn't have top stitch needles, but I did have Schmetz metallic thread needles with a larger eye. There were no issues at all. I purchased the small set, but it is possible that I will need to order the larger set before Christmas. The colors are vivid, the coverage is excellent, and they shimmer!.
These were ordered quite some time ago, but they were only used for the first time yesterday. I've only opened five of the nine spools so far, but two of them looked exactly like the picture, with the thread dangling from the spool in strange ways. I was still able to use them, and they sewed out nicely, but untangling them took some time, and I still have more "ends" than I should have. Embroidery thread is too expensive to waste it trying to untangle it from the spool. When I need metallic thread again, I'll try a different brand.
There is some breakage with metallic thread, but it seemed to be minimal when I changed my tension. The colors are extremely vibrant and gleaming. Also, there's a great variety of colors. Overall, this is an excellent product.
Make sure to use metallic needles and metallic thread.
