It may be available in stainless steel, but this is the only one I have.
Morakniv does not specify grind angles for the majority of their knives, instead stating that they are 15-degrees. In general, the temperature is around 20 degrees. This one is 15 degrees (per side, for a total of 30 degrees), according to my educated guess.
If my memory serves me correctly, the blade length was 73 mm and the length of the handle was 164 mm. ) the overall length (the ones we have are a little longer, with an OAL of 174 mm).
It's flush with the handle, not protruding.

It is something he adores. It's the perfect size for his 9-year-old hand, and I can comfortably use it, too. It has a razor-sharp edge that it maintains. If you aren't going to use the blade every day, make sure to keep a little oil on it. This is an excellent first knife, in my opinion.
I prefer the handle's finish (or lack thereof) to the standard red paint finish because it is much more comfortable. The length of the handle is just long enough for my large but skinny hand, and the finger guard is simple and unobtrusive yet effective, and the size is identical to the old 2/0 that my daughter chose. Because it's a Mora, the blade is fantastic. This model has a full rattail, which should make it more durable than a partial rattail. Because the finish is so smooth, stropping it with my regular red rouge left minute, fine scratches - my bad. br>I expect this knife to serve me well for many years.
It has a good grip. It's a good knife for whittling, but if this becomes a hobby, you'll want to upgrade to the Morakniv 120 or 122 (spoon carvers should consider the Morakniv 106 or 105).
My 8-year-old son began carving at a wilderness school when he was 8 years old, and I didn't feel comfortable allowing him to use my knife, so I bought him this for his birthday, and the size is much more manageable for him. It's just like my full-sized knife in terms of sharpness, but it's shorter and has a smaller handle. We're pleased with the purchase, and he's pleased with his own knife.
I was looking for a safe, high-quality knife for my 5-year-old son, who is interested in bushcrafting and whittling. For the past year or so, he's been slicing and dicing in the kitchen, demonstrating that he's ready for his own knife. Following some research, I determined that it should be a fixed blade with a finger guard, which fits his hand perfectly and is quite sharp. It's just a miniature version of the Mora Classic 2 with fingerguard, which I bought for myself because I liked my son's new knife so much! We're now having a great time in the woods.
After seeing it in several children's whittling books, we decided to give this Mora knife a try. Unfortunately, you can get a better blade for a lower price. Before we could use the blade, I had to sharpen it quite a bit to remove the metal burs and nicks. Hopefully, the blade will maintain its sharpness and provide us with many years of service. I was disappointed that it needed to be sharpened and the edge replaced as if it were a new knife.
I have large hands, but all four of my fingers fit along the handle of this perfect little wood carver and utility knife. It's compact, easy to use, light, and portable. I've been buying Mora for years and have given many as gifts. I now have five different Mora that I use and carry to meet my needs. Mora knives are RAZOR SHARP, EXCELLENT QUALITY, and INCREDIBLY LOW PRICES. For a wide range of tasks, there are numerous styles to choose from. I believe I will obtain the Axe! Mora is very important to us Swedes.
I adore this knife because it is razor sharp, retains its edge well, and is the ideal size for everyday carry. This is marketed as a "kids carving knife," but I wouldn't give it to a child unless they were extremely skilled with a knife. It appears that this thing could almost cut a finger off with a slip of the blade, making it unsuitable for children. The handle is also smaller for children's hands, according to the instructions. I have large/medium hands, and while I could use a little more handle, there is MORE than enough for a great comfortable grip. Even if you have larger hands than mine, I don't see how the handle size would be an issue, especially since you only use your index and thumb when carving (and most other cutting tasks), not your entire hand. I use this as my every day carry because it is the perfect size, insanely sharp, and not too expensive. Keep in mind that this is carbon steel, not stainless, so you must rigorously maintain it by cleaning, oiling, or polishing it. I used this on some chicken I was bbqing and wiped it clean instead of thoroughly washing and polishing it, and the next day there were faint "spots" on the blade that looked like the beginning of it rusting.
