Knives with a straight blade cannot be sharpened with the LS5P1 strop. Thank you for visiting us today. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!.
As a result, you can buy any sandpaper that fits the I wish you all the best, Olha/BeaverCraft.
In spite of being widely advertised as a tool for carving, this product also works great for have a knife that has an odd shape (such as a karambit, a recurve, a kukri, etc. ), this is a must-have. This tool has a curved stropping surface that makes it easy to strop edges, to allow you to strop segments from moderate dullness, and a sandpaper side to sharpen them from moderate dullness. This kit came with two pieces of medium fine grit sandpaper and some compound for use on the strops. In general, a very good piece of work.
There is a curve at the end of this strop, so it is decent. In my opinion, this product should have received two stars because of the way the sandpaper was attached to the product. After you have these two pieces of wood, you must pull the sandpaper tight and press them into place. In addition to the rolling technique, there is also a slashing technique. The instructions will explain the steps, or you can watch a youtube video. Keep your mouth open and don't stay tight. Their size seems a little There's no way I can tell if my one is just defective or all of them are the same. Though I don't mind the stropped end, I prefer the raw In my opinion, I wish they just had the whole thing made of leather, rather than the sandpaper side. It would be easy for me to.
There are no instructions or drawings included for how the sand paper is supposed to fit into a 1/4" slot and be fitted with a square stick press over the paper after it has been inserted. Despite my best efforts, it did not work in 20 minutes. With the resources I have available, I think it is possible for me to modify this gizmo to use coarse and fine grinding compound and toss the sand paper. I have been sharpening knives without this device for 15 years. I wish you the best of luck if you're a beginner. Frustration is the only way to get through this.
Approximately 12 x 12 x 8 inches. Comes rolled up in a cardboard box. Made in Ukraine. A piece of 1200 grit paper and a piece of green compound should be cut. It is a bit tricky to attach the 1200 grit paper box, but a short video on the product listing page explains the process. The fact remains that it is a decent quality shop tool that has a particular use and I am sure it will be used since honing curved blades is more difficult than honing.
And then simply stropping it to smooth it out. It does the job for a quick job to keep round chisels and the like sharp, however, I wish the two edges were flat, one side lined with a strop, the other with a piece of paper. This paddle is really tough, strong, and hard to break, so it can be utilized in a host of different applications.
I found this to be an excellent addition to my arsenal of carving tools. This construction was very well done, and it works like a charm. The product I purchased and used gave me an A on all levels of satisfaction. My only recommendation would be to improve the stick sandpaper hold downs that slide in. there should be some type of rubber coating or even rubber slide ins to grip to and stay in place in the It would get an A+ if this improvement was made.
