A Celsius display is the only one it comes with. Though it's not hard to do, it does take some time and effort. Using a slowly increased level, I reach a point at which the sample begins to burn. Nonetheless, it would be prudent to test out your heat treatment on a scrap of the exact same type of wood first to avoid over burning

Over the years, I have used several wood burning tools and have gathered and analyzed a wide range of wood. For the first time ever, I have a dual gun in my possession. This is quite a change from what I am Going back and forth between guns and not having to change out tips so often is what I like. My finger protectors help reduce the heat from the gun, but I admit the gun gets too hot for my taste. As for purchasing again, I would definitely do so, and I encourage you to do so.

As soon as the pen handle is used, it becomes very hot

Although the burner set works perfectly, the burning pen gets very hot if used for more than 30 minutes at a time. We had to use velcro pads which made using for more than an hour impossible. So any work this requires more than an hour takes much longer. The majority of things I do take me 8 hours or more Approximately 24 hours have passed since the burning began. The total duration of a typical day project is about a week. I have a hard time stopping and going on in order to finish a project. My experience with burning a variety of types of wood is that it does burn very well, I never have to make the tips red hot, and I keep the temperature set to about 500 degrees centigrade.

It does, however, work well for the price. A little more weight should be added to the wires. For someone like me who is a beginner, it was well worth the price.
