That's something I noticed with my own. When the temperature rises above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the handle becomes extremely warm to the touch. I wish they had considered that when they were on the job as a temp. To see if it helps, I bought heat-resistant gloves.
This is the first time I've ever used a wood burning kit. It's simple to operate, I have complete control over the temperature, and it cools and heats quickly. Which I prefer for reasons of security. I can also hold the stylus in my hand like a pen, giving me more control over the burning process.
The Tekchic Pro1 Wood Burning Kit has a wattage of approximately 30W. If you have any further questions, please contact us at claire at elecrow dot com. Thanks. Claire
The cords were long enough for me, so I didn't need it. If you want to extend it, however, you can do so by connecting wire connectors to a piece of wire.

**UPDATE 8/22/20- A brand new unit was quickly sent to me by the customer service representative. They did request that the defective unit be returned to them. They were prompt in responding and resolving the issue. As a result, I raised my rating from one to four stars. The new system is up and running. br>At the end of April 2020, I bought this product. In the first half of May 2020, it was delivered. Since then, I have used it on and off. It was a huge success. The temperature control is a little finicky, but nothing to be concerned about. One of the pens became unusable in June. After contacting the company, I received a replacement pen almost immediately. That blew me away. Now it's August, and the entire unit has ceased to function. A $100 investment in something that only worked for a few months is a lot of money. I'll contact the business once more. I'll keep you posted on the results.
This is the first time I've used a Tekchic burner. The more expensive model was that one. Although this burner does the job, I still prefer my other Tekchic burner. In my opinion, this is an excellent mid-range burner. I don't like that changing the nibs requires a screwdriver, but the pen itself is quite comfortable. My advice is to get the upgraded version if you can afford it. If you're just getting started with burning as a hobby, this is a good machine to start with. Someone with more skill than me is sure to be able to make this machine do everything and more than I am capable of.
It includes a variety of tips, and the case is ideal for keeping everything together in one place. The temperature control is simple to use and aids in the creation of darker or lighter shades. I like that you can plug both pens in at the same time and switch which one is heating up by flipping the switch. br>br>The holders are also very useful; simply place your tips in the small trays and slide the pens in to keep them safe and away from your workpiece while they cool down. I set it to 71/73 for lines and a little lower for shading. It helps to blow on the tip just before touching the wood to avoid scorching it right away for shading. br>br>I highly recommend this one! This is an excellent kit to buy if you want to do more than a few lines.
This burner is incredible; it includes 20 tips and excellent shaders, as well as ball tips. This burner's handle is a little smaller than my other burners', but it feels great in the hand and won't slip out. This burner comes with a large number of tips that are not included with all of Tekchic's burners. The digital readout is excellent for obtaining the same setting for use with a variety of tips. I would HIGHLY recommend this burner to any pyrographer, whether they are a beginner or a professional.

br>Upgrading to this kit has improved my game in a variety of ways! Because of what I have available to me, I no longer dread how long projects will take or try to cut back on ideas. I spent some time on some spare wood to learn which tips suit me best, and now, depending on the project, I swap out and use two main tips, and I love being able to outline with one and then switch to the second burner and do fill or shading with the other. Not having to wait for your burner to cool down before swapping out has saved me a lot of time. br>br>I like that it comes with its own case where I can store everything in between burns or transport it if I need to. My wife adores it because it means I'm less likely to leave everything strewn about in her studio! br>br>My only criticism is that the position of your burner in the plastic holder needs to be carefully considered. When I first put it in the holder, the cord caused the pen to rotate, and the tip melted some of the plastic. I had to clean the melted plastic from the tip for quite some time. br>br>Apart from that, this is a fantastic product!!.
I like the option of using two pens as well. They heat up quickly and then cool down quickly. I've had no problems with this machine and am now even more interested in wood burning. Because I had to use more pressure to burn with the other burners, my carpel tunnel flared up quite badly, whereas these are light weight and burn evenly with little effort.
I've just begun unpacking the kit that I purchased new, used, and returned. br>Take a look at the photo.
I'm sure it won't last more than a month. This item has only been in my possession for about a month and already does not function. The problem with my electric wood burning that I have is if you want to run it for over a month, do not buy the one I've mentioned, they would probably set it up such so that the burner stops working and melts and you do not want it to do so.
