A jumbo flyer kit is compatible with the Kiwi 3, equipped with its own maiden bar to attach to the wheel support. The drive band is also unique, as bobbin drive is used instead of whorl drive, and the braking system is very different (leather band). A new wheel requires removal of the entire top portion of the wheel, and all new parts must be installed An advertisement, maiden bar support, and bobbin to use with the flyer. The super flyer set does not have a hole for the orifice hook, but you may not need one since the orifice is large enough for me to thread it with my finger.
No materials are included to finish this wheel and it doesn't come with anything to complete it. In order to assemble the piece, I put a light layer of wax on top.
The dimensions of the chair are 28" tall x 171/2" wide at the wheel and 10" deep with the pedals folded up or 19" folded down. It was just measured by me.
I absolutely agree with your suggestion that you completely loosen your tension, and it should pull back when you toggle it by hand. Utilize the fastest whorl since cotton has a very tight twist and spins very fast.

Despite my newness to spinning, I do not have any experience. The wheel I am using here is my first one. As a first consideration, cost, as a second consideration, compactness (I have limited space in my home). It was a lucky break for me. In Ashford, there are several people who are highly motivated to make sure the assembly process goes well. Detailed instructions are clear and well thought out. Each component was fitted perfectly and placed carefully - an indication of the manufacturing team's attention to detail. I like the fact that the pilot holes are in the right place, the assembly bolts are easy to reach, and the whole thing is just kind of logical. As soon as you assemble the wheel, it is pretty much bulletproof. Despite the age of the joints, they appear to be sturdy and hope to maintain their strength. It took many days for the box to arrive and for the spinning wheel to sit in my living room. I gained much knowledge about how high-quality spinning wheels are constructed The product is of high quality, manufactured by qualified personnel You can put together a truly valuable group of people if you have quality individuals. Describe how it works, if you will? The learning curve is quite steep for me since I am teaching myself how to spin. This learning curve is fairly short - once you get the hang of treadling, drafting, and determining the mechanics of turning fiber into yarn, it doesn't take long to become proficient. Definitely something I would like to do. Love how compact it is and how it folds up when traveling. It is easy to put together. After applying ashford finishing wax, I let it dry for several hours. I received the package quickly and it was nicely packaged. How to assemble the chair is shown in a YouTube video. It does come with a small bundle of wool inside. A black and a white one. As well as the Ashford maintenance pack which comes with some wheel oil, I also purchased that. A little kiwi is engraved on the right treadle, and it is so sweet! It's the perfect wheel for beginners.
I was able to assemble it an old fat guy like me, and the wheel itself is sturdy and well constructed. The tension springs on one of the cameras were damaged, so I won't be able to use it for about a month. My preference would have been to go with a single treadle, but before I give up on this wheel, I'm going to let it go for a proper 6 month learning period to see if my opinion changes. It is Ashford's aim to make assembly as easy as possible for you, so you can enjoy a job well done once we are done. No matter how much effort you put in, it's up to you to learn to spin properly and not break tension springs. It would be foolish to be concerned about purchasing this wheel instead, I would suggest not being concerned. The investment of time and effort is well worth it if you learn a lifetime craft that will give you endless joy.

I love how easy it is to put together, and it works beautifully once it's oiled. Although I'm new to spinning, I have already made a mini skein of yarn using the two practice yarns it came with!.
Now that I have been using the wheel for 3 months, I am very happy with its performance. A folding feature is also a great feature to save in terms of space.
I am delighted with it. I purchased this for my wife, who already had experience using a drop spindle and wanted to upgrade. It is a big hit with her.
