Questions & Answers

The loom I am thinking of getting will be medium sized. I am planning on weaving twining rugs as well as rag rugs. Do you know if this loom is designed for twining or rag rugs? Does it take only continuous Do you have no prior experience in this field?

Although you can certainly try, the Beka Weaving Frame loom is not designed for twining and rag rugs. Although you are welcome to use it for them, we don't recommend it. A weaving frame can be used to weave in a variety of ways and is portable, providing an enjoyable experience when weaving. To weave the warp yarn, we suggest using a very sturdy one (like the one we sell), which is wound back and forth between the teeth of the beam. As weft you can use a wide variety of materials (such as novelty yarns as well as sticks, feathers, and fabric - etc. There is no end to what you can do). The size of the weaving frame limits the size of the project. Connecting multiple pieces with sewing or other methods can create larger projects. Traditional rug looms can weave long patches of fabric on rug looms. Weaving frames do not allow you to do this. Beka's website features a Rigid Heddle Loom designed for long lengths of fabric, so you can see those when you visit the site.

The mechanism of this one sounds a little bit like what I'm looking for. Can it do that?

A "mechanic" is not really involved in this. It is simply a matter of winding the warping thread up and down on the pegs and weaving yarn into and out of the warp with a shuttle. The warping thread is then tamped down by hand.

Can I get a copy of the ?

Despite the lack of a manual, it's simple to assemble and does not require much knowledge. Utube is a good source for tapestry instructions.

The Santa gift I am planning on getting for my daughter will be this. Is there a type of yarn she'd need, or any other supplies she'd need to get started?

As for the warp yarn, we'd recommend a cotton with a good level of strength. There is no limit to what you can weave with weft yarn! actually comes down to what you like or what grabs your attention! A variation in colors and textures is always a good idea! There is also a Deluxe Weaving Frame Kit which includes everything that one needs to get started. I love it
5/5

Definitely one of the best looms on the market. It is the first time I have ever tried weaving. I found this very easy to install. A fantastically well-designed website This was done. I found it quite versatile, although the only issue I had was that the needle in the kit was very thick, and only about 1 foot long. The blunt tip of this loom is not what you need for weaving through a tight warp. As a result, I went to Windhaven fiber tools on Etsy. The wood tapestry needles they use are handmade 18 inches long. Despite the price, I am going to use them forever, and I believe the needles cost $17 each. A beautiful oak one as well as a beautiful dark walnut one were shipped to me. I'll do my best to include some photos. This needle spans the full width of the loom, and instead of having to weave forwards and backwards it makes it much easier to weave back and forth. Forward and backward. For any buyer of this little loom, here is my only suggestion You should check out Winterhaven fiber tools and order their wonderful handmade tapestry needles since they are (made in America in Ohio), and they are fabulous.

The loom I have is wonderful! My favorite thing about this tabletop loom is how portable it is
5/5

Putting it together from box to warping loom took me less than five minutes. The construction is of high quality, yet it is compact and can be folded flat for travel. Before I started weaving, I made sure to purchase yarn. That day, I practiced different patterns happily. Having great customer service is a plus for this company. Upon arrival, one of the loom beams was damaged, and they immediately replaced it. By the way, UPS was at fault for damage to the loom. In addition to the first damaged box, there is also the second damaged box. In addition, I will be contacting the seller regarding this matter. It is a good choice for a beginner, or an advanced weaver who wants something lightweight and manageable so that they can make art pieces, placemats, dishcloths, etc. I also like the fact that the loom A wonderful line of handcrafted toys for children is offered by this company. It is highly recommended to buy this product and deal with The only technical difficulty we experienced was when we found that our one cat thought it was an excellent place to watch the birds outside. Thanks.

The loom is great! I really like the price
4/5

That loom is awesome! To serve as a reference, I have attached detail photos. I saw a lot of reviews and a very few photos when I bought it. Here are a couple of A very well made product the wood is smooth and free of splinters, so yarn does not catch on it. I like the way the pick up stick is sanded down and does not have sharp edges! This shuttle spans the width of the loom, so it is a good size. Nevertheless, it feels like it should be more angled in similar fashion to the shuttles they sell on their website, which is sanded to an angle to make weaving in and out easier. I like that that needle is nice and long, but I think I'll sand it out to get rid of the rough edges before I use it. There are a few things I dislike In terms of the wing nuts that hold the stand in place, they are fine, but if you are adjusting them often (e. g. , You'll find that as you work on one section of the loom flat, then switch to the other section on the stand, and so on and so forth) then these nuts loosen and it can get tedious to have to return to the back to tighten them continuously. It's a great loom but it isn't perfect. It has a few shortcuts, but generally speaking it's well made. After I ordered the first loom, it took a long time for it to arrive. In the end, a second loom was shipped in two days. The second loom, however, is going to be at least two days late at this point, and the first loom (pictured) arrived yesterday only a few days later than Amazon said. As a result, I'll have to wait for the mailman to refuse the shipment or message them when the second loom arrives. A bit of a pain, but not impossible. I was sent some cherry shuttles to try to make up for it (pictured).

It is very easy to use and very functional to own a Beka loom
5/5

A good rule of thumb is to purchase the largest loom possible when you're learning to weave. The ability to warp small areas makes making smaller projects much easier. However, if you want to work on an even bigger project, you'll have a bigger area to choose from. In addition, the top and bottom two inches of a loom are not used because you need to be able to tie off warp threads and tuck them beneath. Having said that, I chose this 20 x 18 loom with stand since I can lay it on my lap, put it on an angled small plastic table that I have, or place it on a flat surface. Thus, it is a very flexible piece of weaving for different weaving techniques and stitch patterns. I have tried warping six different book marks on it at a time over the years. I am learning how to weave and I am currently working on it in the midst of There is a chance it will stress Whenever I weave with plastic needles, I use 6 inches. Taking up this hobby can be very rewarding. Using cardboard as a loom is a great way to try weaving before buying one. A loom made by Beka brand is one of my favorites.

This product is both versatile and high-quality
5/5

It was a great gift that my daughter gave me to make wall hangings with, and we have both loved I have found it to be a quality product when compared to other weaving looms I have Because the teeth and notches are within a few inches of each other, there is a lot of flexibility in how tight you can weave. For thicker yarns, we'll string every other notch for finer yarns, we'll string every All I have to say about it is that the legs come loose quite a lot, and they have to be tightened We also use it on a tabletop and slide it Under it I put a mat to hold it better, but it is not perfect. I wish it included rubber foot fittings or similar components. There is no doubt that this loom is a good value for the price.

It's so cool to have a loom like this one
5/5

It's so cool to have a loom like this one. It's sturdy and really a decent size. My only problem so far has been keeping the wing nuts tight enough on the legs. My wife bought it for me and I am so glad I did.

I like it a lot! Beautiful loom! I love it! It was such a good decision for me to switch from this makeshift one to this one
5/5

I can't believe how big it is! There are two things you can do with it. You can either string a lot of warp threads and make larger pieces, or you can string less The fact that it comes with pieces to make it stand upright at the table rather than having to be used on my lap is appealing to me. Besides being sturdy and functional, it's also visually pleasing This was done.
