The first project I did with this material is now complete. Due to the fact that I'm a novice at this, I've never worked with rope before. My previous purchase of 5 mm rope from Michael's was not enough for this project, so I had to buy a lot more for a cheaper price. The difference of 4 mm didn't seem that significant, so I figured it wouldn't be too bad. In the beginning, I was disappointed to find the 4mm was so small compared to the 5mm. But after paying better attention, I figure I now realize that I hadn't paid attention enough. I'm not disappointed with how my project turned out even though it was smaller than I expected. It absorbs dye very well, and is of great quality. The deal is great. The string itself is not white, quite dark compared to what I expected, but it still worked well.
Knotting is easy because the cord is sturdy but soft enough to easily knot. A star was deducted due to some spots that were damaged and knotted. A roll and a half were delivered. This is an excellent product. A local craft store sold only 10 yard packages of cord in the 5mm size for a macrame project I was working on. It was easy to unwind and use directly from the spool of this cord as I was able to buy it in bulk size (and at a great bulk price) of 164 yards of continuous cord. I used almost 100 of the 164 yards. In addition, there were no knots or breaks in the cord, and I have enough for another small.
