Well, then. When I brought the arm down, it bent the page as soon as I put the first page in. I cut another 2 inches and bent the rest of the page and it made a rough, shabby 2 inch cut this time. After trying everything to get it to trim, the trimmer wouldn't work Later on, I bought a Swingline and the same thing happened to me. There is no sense in it for me. It happens to me every time I try to use a paper trimmer that I've had since 1983. In these days' market, I don't like the quality of products. They are not tested or quality-controlled before they are put together. Heave a sigh of relief!.
There is nothing better than this cutter for me. You need to be cautious when purchasing this item, though, since the blade is lower than the actual base and is not hidden. Because I didn't know this, I almost cut my thumb when I pulled the cutter out of the box. In the event that you buy it, I would suggest making a fabric slip for it since it is a potentially hazardous item. In regards to the performance of the device, I have no complaints at all. It is worth the extra cost to buy the guillotine cutter with a wooden base over a less expensive one. Despite its simplicity, it works extremely well and cuts cleanly, sharply, and accurately.
I used it to cut foam board, and it's perfect! It takes a bit of getting used to, as I found the first cut wasn't sharp or precise. But after a few tries, Whoever is looking for a sharp and sturdy blade should definitely consider Precision, since it's one of the most important factors.
It is important to me that I can cut large sheets of paper. So I ordered the 24x24" version. When it came to using it, everything seemed to be as expected. My cutting arm was raised as I aligned the paper in the space I needed. In the middle of this process, the arm fell from its own weight, nearly caught my hand and cut the paper in an incorrect location. Why is the arm of the paper cutter prone to falling off? The use of this product is entirely unsafe. It wasn't easy to tighten the arm, and I couldn't find any way to accomplish this. If you want to continue looking, I suggest you do so. The fingers on my right hand were sent back to me, and I am thankful they are all intact.
Arm does not remain up during cutting! There is no way to keep the cutting arm As far as I can tell, there is no way to adjust it so that it stays up while cutting. The arm has to be rested on your shoulder while you organize your work, so it takes a lot of effort to use it. They are hard to get a hold of because the manufacturer makes it difficult. I like the way it cuts.
The vinyl graphics are cut out with this in my vinyl shop. The program works perfectly. A blade that is sharp. A great time saver if you're going to be cutting a lot. Our only problem with this cutter is that there is no spring loaded hinge, which is what made one of our previous cutters so great. The previous cutter had a spring that acted as a lever, letting you pull the handle up when you let The blade on this one will drop when you release it as it doesn't have a spring. It's not a big deal once you're used to it, but it could be dangerous at first. You can raise the blade all the way up and not feel any resistance based on how it remains in place after it's raised to its highest point. In general, this cutter is good for a style such as this.
The square isn't 100% perfect, but the blade is intensely sharp and the grid is right on, so it will almost make up for that. It must be square on all sides. As long as I use it for a task less precise than bookbinding, it won't cause any problems. This is a very dangerous and heavy item. The blade should never be touched or picked up in a careless manner.
The cutter is excellent! A nice, sturdy unit, with a high level of accuracy and stability. This works for all types of artists - even those with smaller arms. The picture board cutting machine is excellent for illustration boards. When medium pressure is applied, the saw will cut smoothly up to 20". Thank you for your time.
