Garbage is trash. There is no way to fix this. It drives me crazy when I purchase a product that is supposed to do one thing as well as one thing only and it doesn't. It's a bad idea to buy it. If you keep spending a lot of time thinking that one day you will figure out how to get the machine to cut a straight line, it will never do it. Using scissors was the best option for me. Cutting a straight line twice is impossible, and you won't be able to cut the same line twice! The paper has to be cut into half sheets since we are simply cutting letter sized paper to use in our small business. A couple of months ago, I purchased a CARL RT-45 At first, I was disappointed with the 200N Professional Rotary Trimmer since the grid marks were incorrect. I have owned a higher end Cutter for years and have been very satisfied The model I had had a locking bar and a magnetic guide and was good for precision cutting, but I don't see it for sale anymore. The Carl paper cutter I ordered was better than the one I had when I was away from home, so I didn't hesitate to order another one. This one, however, is average at best. If you want to shave a few millimeters off your paper, this one is not for you. The blade will ride the edge of the cover weight paper/cardstock rather than trim it once the edge has been clipped. Since I've been using it for two years (average of probably 10 slices a week), I'm surprised at how dull the blade has gotten. The app works pretty well, but it doesn't cut through anything heavier than office paper without a lot of pressure. Works great for a small office. I bought another 18-inch one for my In light of how well that cutter worked, I purchased this one for our office, replacing an old guillotine cutter that probably came over with This will result in nice straight lines if you use the guides and hold on to the paper. did not purchase any of the extra fancy cut blades we normally use since we do no work of that sort at our office. Using card stock, I was able to cut through three sheets of that without a problem but not four. I tried 10 sheets of regular copy paper and 9 of them cut with a lot of pressure, but the 10th one did not. Nevertheless, the top one was as straight (and accurate) as the bottom one.

The machine I purchased was used exclusively for cutting photo prints for clients, so I can't comment on how well it might cut anything else. However, a piece of the trimmed piece had to be pulled away even while pushing now hard. I was hoping for a razor-straight cut, but it didn't happen. I felt that the cut had a little bit of a wave to it which I felt looked unprofessional if I were to deliver it certain there are very expensive rotary cutters that do a better job, but I cannot bring myself to spend more than $50 on one. My experiment ended up with a Friskars 12" with a regular razor cut and it is so much easier to use and more accurate thanks to the guide wire that you can see where you're cutting.

It is great to have a small cutter like this. My job as an Etsy shop assistant for a vinyl company called me to take care of something at home. I was able to cut vinyl rolls much more efficiently using this machine. As the user, I would like to have spare blades as I have already had to purchase another one after a short period of time. However, I am a heavy user and have cut hundreds of yards of vinyl, so that is not the cutter's fault. In the beginning, I worked from her office but then I needed my own when I started working from home. Compared it to the flimsy ones you can get for scrapbooking at craft stores, I decided to get this one because it was very durable and will last me for a long time.

Does this rotary trimmer seem to be accurate? I do not know for sure. There is still a lot of doubt about This trimmer does a great job of cutting very heavy stock paper and more than one sheet at a time. I made hand cut hang tags and this trimmer made it quick and easy! My hang tags turned out looking great with straight My overall impression of this trimmer is generally positive and I would recommend it.
