The handles allow for precise cutting, and the knives are generally simple to use. I'll use these for the rest of my life, and the cost was a small price to pay for such a long-lasting set of tools.
Exacto knives are fantastic for a variety of tasks, and they're well worth the investment. I used one to custom build a computer for my son, who requested a Minecraft-themed computer. I ordered some custom vinyl decals to apply to the case rather than having to custom paint it. This necessitated precise cutting of the case's various openings. This knife, as you can see in the photos, allowed me to cut it to the exact measurement/outline. br>br>Keep in mind that I did the initial outline as shown in the photos, but then went over them again to ensure exact cutouts (removing uneven cuts and excess material). I still have more than 110 blades for future projects, even though it comes with 120 extra blades!.
I use these to cut my custom window decals and they work fantastically. Three knives, plus a plethora of spare blades I'm not going to run out of anything. The blades only fit this handle, so I only gave it four stars. The blades do not tighten up in that handle, despite the fact that it claims to be the same size as my real exact o. This remains a good investment.
With all the extra blades, it's very easy to hold, and the value is incredible. Because the blades are too long, they 'wobble' and won't cut cleanly. You can't get close enough to the blade to grip it firmly enough to keep it from wobbling because of the handle. br>I'll keep using them because I already own them, but I went out and bought a more expensive but better X-ray machine. Small blades on an acto knife.
These have a plastic-like feel to them. The blades appear to be in good condition. The problem is with the holders. The blade is difficult to replace. Because the blade does not easily drop into the holder, you must be VERY CAREFUL to avoid cutting your finger off. br>br>I'm still using the blades from my old xacto holder because they're more durable and easier to change.
You will never run out of what you require, no matter what happens. There's no need to worry if you want to use each knife for a different task. There are only two minor improvements that could be made. One option is to use a case or pouch to keep the knives and blades together. The other is a simple blade replacement instruction guide. An experienced hobbyist would already know how to do this, but I'm a complete beginner who is terrified of knives. A single sheet of illustrations with no text would have sufficed.
These are great because they were inexpensive and arrived quickly when I needed them. They're okay, but they seem to dull quickly, which isn't a big deal given how many you get. I use them to make miniatures and work with a lot of thin paper, so I noticed when they started tearing the paper instead of cutting it when they became dull. Aside from that, they're simple to use and provide good value for money.
