The cutter is excellent; however, getting used to it will take some time. Because I didn't get everything, I gave it three stars. The cutter and blades were the only items I received; no cutting mat or weeding tools were included.
I wouldn't even give it a one-star rating because the cutting tool doesn't work as shown in the video. Even card stock was impossible to cut through. Weeding tools were supposed to be included, but they weren't. I emailed Amazon to inform them of the shortage, and they promptly sent me a replacement product that lacked the weeding tools as well. Very let down.
I wouldn't give this product a single star because it was so difficult to use and didn't cut through even the finish paper I used it on, so I wouldn't recommend it.
This product did not perform as advertised in the video. With any of the blades, it couldn't cut through paper in one pass. It did not rotate as smoothly as the video depicts. I never received any of the optional tools, which I was willing to overlook if the Gyro blade worked properly. You should use an X-ray instead. For your project, you'll need an acto knife or scissors, both of which have been returned.
Although there is a slight learning curve, the tool is simple to use. When I tried it with card stock, I discovered that I had to use a lot of force to cut it. It was great for cutting out details from magazine/calendar images, though I would cut what I could with scissors first and then use this for areas where scissors wouldn't fit. The oblique handle allows you to see where the blade is without getting your fingers in the way. I think I'd like it more if the blade was sharper. I deducted a star for the steep learning curve and limited utility of the product, but I'm not unhappy with my purchase. This is a useful tool to have in your toolbox if you cut a lot of delicate images from 'flimsy' paper.
You don't have to be Einstein to put it together, but you'll wonder if you did something wrong because there's no way this hunk of junk could possibly work properly! Make sure you don't throw your money away. It wasn't exactly cheap.
It was difficult to turn the rotating blade. And you have to apply a fair amount of pressure, which can be exhausting after a while; additionally, the blade did not always cut through the cardstock, occasionally skipping. I'm not sure if it was because of how I was holding it, but it wasn't very intuitive; I liked the accessories it came with, but not enough to keep it. br>br>I gave the item back to the seller.
If you apply too much force to the paper, it will tear. It will not cut the paper if you do not press down hard enough. Make sure you don't throw your money away.
