Questions & Answers
It is more suitable for scoring hard plastic like acrylic sheets, so you can then bend and snap them at a straight line. If you are cutting circles on Rubbermaid bins, it might be better to use a regular utility knife, fine toothed hacksaw, or hole saw.
Due to the fact that I have never used it on that type of plastic, I am unsure. The only way to know for sure is to try it once. I appreciate it
The plastic is what determines its strength. In addition to cutting fiberglass sheeting for shower surrounds and trimming pexiglass to replace broken windows, I also use mine to trim pexiglass panels. It has even happened to me that fluorescent lenses have been trimmed while plastic lenses have also been broken. I've chosen this plastic cutter because it is my favorite.
The only dumb people are the ones asking dumb questions. There is a chance that this will cut thin wood, but it won't be pretty as it will likely sink in and tear it apart. A really tough material can be scored with this tool. The easiest solution is likely to get a cheap saw from someone nearby or to use a friend to help you.

In other words, these critics are not familiar with how scoring tools work, which I find to be the case. In other words, I scored a line with a ruler (12 times with firm but not extreme pressure) and then casted a line against the edge of the Exactly what I was looking for- It's not like a saw at all. Unlike a saw, it does not have any teeth.
In order to make a top for my aquarium, I had to cut a piece of plexiglass for the first time. Thanks to this handy little tool, it was Only one of the cuts was deep enough and came out a little ragged, so I had to make four cuts. However, their accuracy and snapping were pretty good except for the first one. My understanding is that it's better to have a high score instead of a low one. *This is a bargain in terms of price, but not in terms of Despite being a beginner, I found it to be very helpful.
It works well and is a good value for the price. The cutting edge is nice, too. **This product is intended to replace the "Red Devil 1170 Plexiglas Cutting Tool Cartridge" because that had horrible cutting edges. The edges look like they were sharpened on the I had bought two of them, both of which were defective. This "Fletcher Terry 05-08" is for you In general, the "111 Scoremate Plastic Cutter" operates as expected. The one you want to buy is this.
The acrylic sheet cutter is inexpensive and does a good job when Once you make the first cut using a straight edge, the tool will follow your first cut easily to make the groove deeper until you feel comfortable snapping it apart without damage. There may be better tools if you are cutting hundreds of tons of acrylic/plex, but you cannot really find one that is better for a few projects or every now and then usage.
Do you not have a This knife can be used to score acrylic and to create cool boxes, stands, etc. I used a Starrett square for straight scores and then snapped acrylic with a clamp It works great in 1/4" acrylic, but I haven't tried it in thicker or thinner pieces, but I am sure it will work on thinner pieces, too. There's just one problem the fractures are conchoidal, so you don't get an edge that's square. Sanding or maybe a judicial use of a torch could be used to address this problem. The edges are fused together by acrylic adhesive, so in the end it constitutes little difference. While there were some imperfections in my box, it was still watertight.
The seller does not provide a cover in the purchase so I would invest in finding some kind of solution on my own to this problem. They may be available on thingiverse in 3D printed form.
Despite being 68 and a cabinetmaker with a lifetime of experience with plastic laminate, I find this news unbelievable. The cutter is the best I have used, and I have had the best, so I thought it must be the best. That is how good it is, I am going to order a few more so I have one with me at all times.
We received a product that was not in its original packaging. There's no doubt this is a pre-production photo Currently in use. I'm not impressed at all with this, it looks slimy, and someone else has left their finger prints on It wouldn't be my first choice to buy from this seller, but the functionality is still quite As we have to make a decision right now, I am going to do just a sanitization with Clorox to finish the project.
