My main application is to adhere USPS mailing labels printed on copy paper to glossy Priority Mail envelopes. I ran out of regular Elmer's glue sticks, so I decided to try the extra strength. I would glue, then use Scotch tape for added security to keep the label on, just like I would with the regular. I find the Extra Strength to be extra strong; the labels adhere more firmly; I'm tempted to skip the tape, but for peace of mind, I use a small amount (less than before). It should be noted that some reviews stated that they were unable to stick paper-clips to the product. I glued two 3 x 5 cards (standard white) together with no problems; they were secure and tore apart when allowed to dry, rather than peeling apart, which could be due to batch variability or drying time (I only allowed about 3 minutes for drying). I didn't try gluing photos because the container stated that it was photo safe. br>br>For the record, the tube is three inches in diameter. 5/8" in diameter x 1/4" long The lid closes with a snap, making it fairly secure. It's simple to twist the tube's end to extend the glue and apply it. The glue itself appears to be a light blue faint blue, almost white, in the tube, and it applies colorless, but there is a slight "wetness" to where it is applied. I had previously used a regular Elmer's stick, which turned purple before becoming clear. br>br>Overall, I'm happy with it; it's a little stronger than regular and it suits my needs. br>br>If you found the extra experiments and information useful, please click the helpful button; it will motivate you to continue doing these experiments for this wonderful community. I'm serious. I've used it for a lot of bookbinding and, in the past, for facilitating therapy groups that frequently included collage-making. making projects and similar ones This is the best-of-the-best-of-the-best-of- It will not lose its adhesion as long as your coverage is good, whether you're gluing cardstock, watercolor paper, construction paper, or cardboard, and it has a very smooth application without the water content that cheaper gluesticks have, which tend to dampen and water-proof. Make a mark on your paper and/or ripple it. That's not to mention the fact that the house is spotless. It's also quite simple to get up. br>br>I no longer use any other glue sticks. I'm serious.
They simply did not function. The only reason I bought these was because they could be delivered the same day, and I figured the Extra Strength would be better. First, there was a delay in delivery, and I never received them. Second, these Elmer's Glue Sticks are just as bad as the rest of the Elmer's Glue Sticks! I was gluing collage for an art project, but the paper kept peeling away! Those are the worst glue sticks I've ever seen! Thankfully, I had also ordered the fantastic brand of glue that actually works; Unlike Elmer's, which is based in China, this Elmer's product is made in the United States!.
These glue sticks accomplish the task for which I purchased them: the application of shipping labels to packages I used to use liquid glue, but it wrinkles the paper and seeps past the edges of my shipping labels. It's also a pain to use wet glue. I decided to give glue sticks a try, so I purchased this product at a great price considering the number of sticks in the box. I will never use liquid glue again! br>br>I've tried these glue sticks on paper, cardboard, and plastic packaging, and they work great. I pulled up the corners of the paper after about 20 minutes to see if it would easily fall off, but it wouldn't. Because the adhesion was so strong, I yanked harder, and the paper tore, taking some cardboard with it! So I won't have to worry about a shipping label falling off because the glue is strong enough. br>br>I'll definitely buy these again if I ever run out of glue again.
Great price for the number of sticks we got, but just so you know, they're about half the size of regular glue sticks, and the number of ounces is listed in the description, but I just wanted to point that out for those who weren't aware of the difference. They worked well; we used them to glue items to an Elmers Foam presentation display board, and they worked well; however, I'm not sure if they were significantly better than regular glue sticks. When using regular copy paper, the paper did not apply completely smooth; it had the same wet look as liquid glue, and I recommend that if there are any small chunks that come off, you smear them with your finder before affixing or you will get little bumps. The stiffer applications worked better than the flimsy paper.
The space is insufficient. I miscalculated the size; these are about the same size as chapstick.
They have no strength, and there isn't a single muscle in sight. Based on this claim by what I considered to be a reputable brand, I decided to take a chance and use these to reassemble the block of my engine. It didn't just fall apart; it also didn't provide any support. In fact, I had to produce extra, extra strength to compensate for its weakness. I gave them to my kids, and while they were great as a kid's glue stick, I wasn't impressed with them as an extra-strong solution.
I read a review that said they were small and assumed they were the standard size, which they are not. Please keep in mind that these are miniature glue sticks.
