It is! It's actually a lovely pearlescent burgundy that's very true to color:
It melts at around 99 degrees Fahrenheit and boils at 698 degrees Fahrenheit. I usually just light it with a torch lighter for about a minute and it's ready to use.
It is not a flat surface.
It will cause the plastic to melt.

This was the perfect finishing touch for our wedding invitations. This was extremely simple to use and self-explanatory. It takes some time to wait for each bead to melt before stamping the envelops. I've discovered that gently placing the stamp over the melted wax and allowing it to sit for about 10 minutes works best. Remove it after 15 seconds. I also used two beads per stamp because one would have been insufficient. However, overall, I am very pleased with the product and the end result, as shown in the photo.
Everything you see in the picture is included in the kit. I've never used wax melts with a spoon before (I usually buy the sticks), and I must say it's a refreshing change. The wax is non-combustible and has a deep, rich color. I have two seals; the smaller one, about the size of a dime, can only take- one bead. Two beads comfortably seal the larger seal, which is about the size of a quarter. The spoon's handle does not get hot. I strongly advise wax sealers, young and old, to use this product.
I enjoy writing letters to my friends and using this wax to seal them. The wax, on the other hand, is supple rather than hard. This indicates that it is very strong and does not easily break, allowing you to send these letters through the mail without fear of the seal breaking along the way. I was hoping for brittle wax, so that when the letter was opened, it would break. To open my letters, the recipients must first tear the paper around the seal. This isn't a big deal, but I wanted to make sure people were aware in case they had a preference. Get this wax if you want to mail your letters! This is fantastic! Try to find some traditional wax if you want the wax to break like it does in the movies. I needed 50 wax seals and discovered that 3 is the perfect amount for me (2 is too little, and 4 seems wasteful). I used parchment paper to cool the seals before gluing them to the backs of the envelopes. It appears to be fantastic!.
Invest in new stationery! It's a TINY package, but it packs a punch. I was expecting the bag to be much larger (it's about the size of an iPhone), but I was able to complete 120 seals with just one. 5 bags. AMAZING! You will not be dissatisfied with your purchase. Our wedding invitations have been significantly upgraded. If you have patience (it took about 30-45 minutes), the small candles and spoon included in the package DO work perfectly fine. For each seal, it takes 45 seconds to melt three cubes. I simply watched Netflix while stamping, and the time flew by. Towards the end, I simply switched to a larger Yankee Candle flame; That was a tad hotter.
Sealing a letter with wax is so much fun! I made a beautiful, supple seal with two beads, the enclosed spoon, and tea candles. I used the Alphabet Seal Vintage Retro Wooden Alphabet stamp, which worked beautifully. I cleaned the spoon with a wipe and am excited to use it again.
I'd never worked with wax beads before, but this kit was exactly what I needed. I've only used stick wax up to this point, and the problem with stick wax is that it's difficult to work with and tends to burn as it melts, leaving black specks on otherwise attractive seals. These beads melt quickly in the spoon, and I've found that two beads is just right for my seal. I ordered these in gold and was pleased to discover that the final seal is a lovely, pale shimmery gold. Would/will buy again without a doubt.
These are bronze, but they're more of a light golden bronze. I was looking for copper/rose gold, but couldn't find any on Amazon, so these were a good substitute. I also had a pineapple stamp that I got on Amazon, I think it's a pretty standard size, and I was using between two and three beads per stamp; I couldn't decide which looked better, the ones with two or three beads worth of wax. Two of them came out looking more clean and minimalist, whereas three of them looked more like "I'm a medieval lady sending a scroll. " I wish I'd remembered to bring my camera. I was tasked with sealing 30 envelopes for a bridal shower. There was a learning curve, and not every envelope turned out as well as the others, but it was a lot of fun, and I still have a lot of wax. I think the next time I use them, I'll look for a wax melting stand, because the spoon that came with them got really messy (dried wax and soot) and I couldn't figure out how to clean it, but I didn't try very hard, so.
