This product was recommended for adhering foam soundproofing panels to my walls, so I used it for that purpose. I've tried three times to hang the soundproofing, but it just falls off the wall each time. The pads aren't at all sticky. I intend to reuse the ones I already have, but I'll invest in a good adhesive for the pads and foam panels. I don't recommend using this product; I can't even hang a single 12" by 12" foam panel that's as light as air with five of these pads. I could fry an egg on these pads because they are so nonstick.
I bought a bunch of these when I was buying acoustic foam, and they were in the "often bought together" section, so I assumed they were made for that purpose. br>br>They're simple to cut down to size, stick to the wall firmly, and look fantastic. However, without another adhesive, they do not adhere properly to acoustic foam; I believe I saw an expensive glue paired with these, but I simply used Elmer's Glue-It. Everything came from the grocery store, and it worked perfectly; all of the panels are still attached to the wall where I left them.
I bought the foam at the same time as these. I spent hours gluing these to the wall and covering them with foam. My office floor and desk were littered with foam squares the next morning. When attempting to remove the adhesive pads, the paint and drywall are torn up. I bought black map pins, which worked great for holding up the foam and covering the hundreds of sticky pads that had become permanent.
They were sticky, but not for soundproofing studio walls with acoustic foam panels. For about 15 minutes, the panels remained in place. When I sat down after 20 minutes, they began to pop off one by one. hmm, maybe I didn't have enough tape squares, so I added more, and the problem reappeared. Thankfully, I received a refund for this purchase, but I would not recommend using it directly on a wall or for foam panels.
The dimensions of these are 9 x 8 inches. 5 inch sheets with 30 - 30 - 30 - 30 - 30 - 30 - 30 - Squares of 5 inches Because the Squares are larger than the ones that come with acoustic foam, I assumed they'd be excessive. That was not the case. After installing the squares and securing them with a clamp, they continued to fall off the wall, and each morning I awoke to new tiles on the floor. I had no choice but to use a staple gun, which defeated the purpose. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I'd say they're old if I had to guess. I live at 6K elevation in a very dry part of Colorado, and things usually stick incredibly well. It's a puzzle to me.
I bought these pads to put up sound foam, and they seemed to stick fine at first, but after I left my room and returned about an hour later, they began to fall off; I gave it two days of putting it up and pressing on it over and over again in the hopes that it was my fault for not pressing them on properly, but it wasn't. For foam mounting, I wouldn't recommend these pads. Use rool of mounting tape; it's a little more expensive, but it stays put rather than peeling away.
This was recommended to me by Amazon for my Studio padding order, and it is completely useless. Guys, it's not strong enough to support studio padding. FOAM. What the hell is going on here? I was ecstatic to be putting this stuff up, but that excitement only lasted an hour.
Damn these suckers, they stick to everything and hold on to it, LOL.
