Questions & Answers

The glass cutter can cut through thick glass. How thick must the glass be?

There is no such thing as a glass cutter that actually cuts glass. Taking this method, a hole is created on the surface of the glass, creating a weak spot. Once the glass has been scored, by using a tool such as a running pliers it is broken along the score line. Thus the glass is broken from end to end. There is no need to measure the thickness of the glass. Safetly tempered glass cannot be processed with this method. In the movies, you see how they are used, but they don't work that way!

Has the head of this cutter been manufactured by Toyo?

Having cut perfectly aligned panes, she proceeded to insert them
5/5

There's a chance I should have let her do the thing. Over the course of the last 50 years, I have fixed lots of things as a field service engineer. My grandfather gave me a glass cutter when I was young, so about a year ago, I used it to fix some storm windows. As a result, I have lost my glass cutting skills, and I quickly trashed the used pane of glass I used for practice. From the local hardware store, I bought a new glass cutter, but the results were similar to those from the older model. Having absolutely no idea what I was doing, I Googled glass cutters. The item is available after clicking on the link. It was easy to follow the enclosed instructions, and I am now finished with my storm windows. As soon as I taught my daughter how to use the cutter, she cut the perfect panes of glass. Wouldn't it have been better if I had let her handle everything?.

The ideal tool for the job
5/5

A glass cutting kiln that I own is for making fusible glass, and I purchased it for this purpose. Tool for the job perfectly suited.

I recommend it! I like the way it works
5/5

We are up to number two now. A good size is neither too large nor By doing this, you are able to hold it easier a considerable amount of use, the first one had a broken cutting wheel. Make sure to tighten the screw that holds the cutting wheel at regular intervals as it had come loose. Had the screw not come loose, it is not possible to predict how long it would have lasted. Rather than filling the oil reservoir, I think it is more convenient to just have a small bowl of oil that you can dip the wheel into from time to time.

It is unanimously agreed that Studio Pro Pistol Grip Glass Cutter is the best available
5/5

Since I had never been successful cutting glass with an old traditional "Red Devil" type cutter I decided to try this new In my initial attempt, the glass broke cleanly and made a perfect score. With only two mishaps, I managed to successfully cut 12 picture frames with glass, probably because I wasn't applying enough pressure to make a clean cut. On this cutter, the cutter wheel is much smaller than what I've seen on Red Devils. It does what it says and I'm very happy with my purchase. Make sure you invest in a pair of runner pliers as well. It's so much easier to do business with them.

There is a bad leak in the oil reservoir
3/5

I like the way the cutter works and the handle is different from other cutters I've used. I would like to find another glass cutter with a handle like this, but of better quality. The handle reservoir leaks terribly, and will make a mess on your project. I'd like to find another glass cutter that I can really rely on. It is not worth even half of the price the retailer is asking for the glass cutter.

Add oil to the mixture
4/5

My previous use of this tool is well documented. Due to a broken tip on my other one, I ordered a new one. The tool is quite useful to me. Adding oil to melted foods, however, is difficult because it is difficult to know how much to add. The first time I did this, I added far too much liquid, and even when I tightened the screw the leak continued. It would still be a good app to recommend, even if the problem is user error.

The Studio Pro Pistol Grip Glass Cutter has an oil reservoir
5/5

With the Studio Pro Pistol Grip Glass Cutter with Oil Reservoir, you can cut glass with ease. I am a handycapped artist, and I have a hard time applying enough pressure in order to effectively cut glass. This glass cutter, on the other hand, did not give me any trouble at all. As an added convenience, the cutter also came with an oil reservoir, so I didn't have to keep adding oil. In the future, I can plan on doing even more projects. There's no doubt in my mind that this is a good option.

It is so nice to have so much control over That's the third time I've done it
4/5

It is so nice to have so much control over As well as the pistol grip, I also like it. Because I have arthritis, I find it easier to use this than a pencil. Only ONE of them has a drawback ALL THREE have leaked oil or have excess oil that is discharged when in use or when stored tipdown. The next time I need it, I'll buy it again.
