On the Mohs scale, porcelain is a seven. Glass is available in a variety of sizes. We anticipate that it will work, but because porcelain is a harder material than glass, the grinder bits may wear slightly faster.
Yes, a 1" diameter grinding bit is included.
Glass bottles should be able to be ground down and imperfections removed with the included grinder bit. While this grinder does not come with a smoother grinder bit, Inland Craft sells them on their website.

This grinder had the potential to be a favorite of mine. The sponge system works well. Compared to my old Glastar, there is a lot less splashing. On the front of the grinder, there is a storage compartment, which I initially thought would be extremely useful. Apart from the fact that the cover that came with the grinder did not fit at all - I saw multiple cut marks from something sharp on both sides when I finally managed to pry it off. Someone had attempted to shave it down, but had come to a halt at the point where they could jam it into place. Quality control is not something I consider to be important. The seller sent me a replacement cover, which fit perfectly, but I felt it should have fit the first time. When I first emptied the water, I realized that the storage compartment came along for the ride - So either empty all of your parts every time you dump the water, or keep the cover firmly in place. In any case - oops. The fact that this grinder is really only good for grinding large pieces of glass is my biggest gripe with it. Only the tip of a small bit can be used because the mini table is so high. I'm baffled as to how this was put to the test and no one noticed. br>I am unable to recommend this grinder in any way.
It's mostly a bother, and I'm not sure what to do about it. Maybe they're all the same way. Overall, I'm pleased with it.
Drip cooling is less dependable. Over the course of 30 years, I've gone through three grinders. The sponge cooling feature is something I really like. Drip cooling is used by some other brands, but it usually fails after a few years.
It appeals to me greatly. Grinding used to be one of my least favorite aspects of stained glass work, but now I breeze through it!.
The amount of extra power I need to get through the grinding is very noticeable. I really like how much more space there is to work with.
My first one was dependable and long-lasting. After over 15 years of use, I was relieved to be able to replace it.
