I haven't used the items yet, so I can't comment on their actual quality. However, based on the state in which they arrived, I don't hold out much hope. I am aware that oiling the metal is required to prevent rust or corrosion. The breaking pliers, on the other hand, are filthy, as if they've been used before. Even the plastic container in which they were kept is filthy. The other two items appear to be in good condition, and they are not in the same condition as the pliers that are breaking. I gave it a one-star rating because I can clean them up, but the fact that it's required is inexcusable.
Spend the cash on a good set. Everything here is a waste of time. My glass is shattered every time the running pliers are used. They've actually taken money out of my pocket. The cutter is also a disaster. The grosing pliers were the only thing that could be used.
If there was a choice, I'd choose 0. The majority of the pieces were missing when I received this "set. " When the case only contains one item, it's hardly a set. br>*It was later added that they contacted me to see how we could improve things. They issued a refund because it would take another week to reach me, making it too late for my son to use at school.
I just got my kit in the mail. I got a new sheet of glass and began cutting it with zeal. I took out the runners to cut a very simple straight long piece and nothing came out of it because the cutter didn't score well. I tried the opposite side, but it didn't work. I took out a borrowed pair, thinking it was a user error, and the glass was easily snapped. I cut out a leaf pattern from the small price cut and went to snap it, but nothing happened. When I squeezed it a second time, the glass shattered all over the place. They irritate me. I'm annoyed that it squandered perfectly good glass that I had recently purchased. I'm annoyed that other reviews influenced my decision to purchase these. So, if it's possible, Purchase these items at your own risk. Please do not throw away your lovely glass.
The second pair of running pliers had the same problem.
I just got around to trying them after receiving them as a gift for Christmas. The running plires shattered the glass every time, no matter how many adjustments I made; the other two tools, on the other hand, seemed to work fine.
I didn't make the cut (and had to purchase one from my club - a good cut) I tried using my pliers for running. The situation is identical - My cuts were not broken. It was a waste of time. This product was a waste of money for me, and it's a shame. Thousands of dollars have been squandered. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use them until today, and I'm four days late with the return; otherwise, it would have been returned.
Prior to being plastic dipped for the handle coating, the running pliers' handles still had long, sharp metal flashing on them. My fingers were cut by the metal "strands" that protruded from the handle. To grind the flashing off, I had to remove the rubber coating. Following the purchase of a can of plasti- I have a safer product to use thanks to a Lowe's dip.
