While I'm aware it is strongest, black backed tape seems to be the best But it's the one I've used the most. There is a copper backed tape by this brand that I use and I love it. I cannot understand why this is so Despite being very thin, it is quite heavy. There is no sticky residue on this. I've tried to baby it, but it continues to split no matter how much I do. My excitement was sparked by my first experience working with silver backed products, and I really needed to practice having to deal with A bad review is the last thing I want to do My roll was not very good, but I'm not sure if that was my fault However, I'm not going to buy it.
This silver backed style is a real waste. Three packages are on their way to me. Have opened the 7/32 and 1/4 and both have been very difficult to lift. It happened again when I foiled and burnedished the pieces again and it started lifting again!! I cleaned it up, re foiled and burnished just to be sure. Now, it's not all of it, but a great deal of it. It seems that a considerable number of stained glass artists are experiencing the same difficulties. This is not a good sign. Since I have never had a problem with black backed before, I am not sure what is going on, but save your money and buy another brand of black backed instead. It will save you a lot of time and frustration! I agree with that.
The product has been in my cart a couple times and for the price I think it's great. There is no need to tear it when you burnish it onto your cut glass since the foil is not too thin. In my opinion, you shouldn't use a dispenser that comes with the foil because when you try to pull the tape out, the plastic may rip. If I am not using my copper foil, I store it in a zip lock bag to prevent it from tarnishing. The foil I've been using has never caused any issues for me.
My wretchedness is evident in the package in which the dispenser is contained. A roll of tape keeps sticking to a piece of cardboard, and of course unravels when it is opened to be untucked. In terms of the tape itself, it is average. It's not great, but it's not terrible either. The next time I will purchase a different brand.
It is easy to peel this copper foil, as it works well. As well as that, it has a built-in roll holder that is actually the package itself, and it works excellently. The complaint has not been filed.
This product does not adhere properly, its edges are bent. You need to go shopping. Please do not have it delivered.
