It is possible to solder stones together using any copper tape made for stained glass work. There are glass "globs" that you'll find in a stained glass shop, which are kind of round and kind of flat much like stones you'd find in In the same way, stone and glass are treated the same. You should use black backed copper tape if your glass is clear, because the back of the tape will show through the glass once the soldering is done. When using copper tape with clear adhesive on opaque glass objects, such as flat pieces of glass, stones, or globs of glass, it is fine since you cannot see through the stone or glass to the back of the tape.
This is made out of copper that is nearly pure, which is backed with adhesive. A snail cannot cross it if it is only 3/16 inch wide, meaning it may not be wide enough to prevent crossing. Amazon has wider versions, and I would start looking for 1 and 1/2 inch wide rolls. You can choose from 108 feet on one roll, so you have plenty of options. You're going to have a great time! It was my expectation that 3M would produce a quality copper foil, but I will not buy it from them ever again. There is a problem with the adhesive not being contained under the foil. It has been stuck to the sides of the roll. In other words, the foil won't spool out nicely, but instead sticks to whatever it is laid on or in. Then there are sometimes fine filaments on the sides which need to be trimmed off with a blade so that the solder line does not look tarnished.
A black backing can be found on some black-colored clothing A lot of this manufacturer's 7/32" tape can be seen through its adhesive, including some that is so thin that it completely covers the copper foil. I got a roll of 3/32" tape with a black backing that was much better than other rolls.
The foil arrived quite quickly, which was great because I was deep into a project before I realized I needed more foil right away.
Venture copper foil tapes are high quality. Its reputation for being reliable and easy to work with has been proven over and over again. have not had issues with pieces loosening or falling apart over time. Not all copper foil tapes have the sticking power and ease of use that Venture copper foil tapes have. I highly.
It's easy to rip this way. You won't lose your money if you don't.
The foiling of stained glass is achieved with this product. This product is a good choice.
It is my favorite tool for patinating my glass since I use it for all of them.
I have used a few different foils and the Venture series adheres better than all of them. The wearer also appears to be less likely to tear.
