I purchased it for both personal consumption and soap-making purposes. "Pure lye," according to the description. It isn't pure, and it doesn't appear to be refundable.
When it comes to making soap, I absolutely adore Red Crown! I've been using it for over three years and have never been disappointed. My mixture is always clear, with no lye residue that does not mix. I would strongly advise using it to make soap. Other than that, I haven't used it.
The container had been opened when it was halfway full. This purchase will be returned because I am dissatisfied with it.
My review is currently being edited. I made three loaves of soap with this, and they all turned out perfectly.
This arrived exactly on time. It's worked well for my soap recipe, and I like that the lid has a safety feature that prevents it from falling off when the directions are followed. This could easily result in a sipll that is extremely dangerous.
I'm not sure how much I know about this product. I can attest to the fact that it arrived quickly, and I used it to make soap with it. All of the product concerns and warnings were read to me. Gloves, goggles, and other protective equipment were worn, among other things.
Because I made my lye solution outside, there wasn't a lot of fume. For my soap, it worked perfectly.
It's the only LYE I use because I discovered it a few years ago. It's simple to use and goes well with all of our soap-making supplies.
