Sodium hydroxide or caustic soda are other names for lye. For the production of lye soap, lye makes an excellent soap base. Our lye is packaged in a child-resistant container that can be resealed.

For soap making, technical grade lye (non-food grade) is the preferred lye. Drain clogs, oven grease removal, and cleaning are just a few of the other uses for this potent lye in the home.

Drain cleaners and clog removers are made with lye. Sodium hydroxide's corrosive nature allows it to eat through even the toughest grease and hair clogs without causing damage to your pipes!

Many cleaning agents contain lye, which is an excellent grease remover for the oven. Extra caution should be exercised when handling sodium hydroxide.

There are numerous. So far, I've only used about a third of the container and have made about 30 bars.

It's not pure lye, but it's false advertising

I purchased it for both personal consumption and soap-making purposes. "Pure lye," according to the description. It isn't pure, and it doesn't appear to be refundable.

When it comes to making soap, I absolutely adore Red Crown! I've been using it for over three years and have never been disappointed. My mixture is always clear, with no lye residue that does not mix. I would strongly advise using it to make soap. Other than that, I haven't used it.

It has the potential to be hazardous

This arrived exactly on time. It's worked well for my soap recipe, and I like that the lid has a safety feature that prevents it from falling off when the directions are followed. This could easily result in a sipll that is extremely dangerous.

Everything about the product was accurate

I'm not sure how much I know about this product. I can attest to the fact that it arrived quickly, and I used it to make soap with it. All of the product concerns and warnings were read to me. Gloves, goggles, and other protective equipment were worn, among other things.

It's perfect for cold process soap! I used this to make my first batch of cold process soap; it had a little static to it, but it was otherwise very simple to use
