As a wire worker, I do a lot of work with cables and wires In my jewelry-making and art, I like to use heavy aluminum to trace one line drawings to make animals and figures. I love the copper color, and you get a large amount of wire for your money. Since it's aluminum under the copper coating, you can see the copper coating underneath. The silver color is visible a bit when the light is on. In addition to being pretty soft, this wire is also pretty strong- My experience with the wire is that it works well in my hands, but if you plan to make shapes that you hope will hold, this is perhaps not the wire for you. The ability to make tight, crisp corners is one of the things I enjoy about it. However, doing so means I sacrifice durability (an accidental flop in the wrong place, and my design is ruined. In my view, wire with a little less softness is my preference Besides aluminum, I have other types of metal Same gauge wire that is lighter and less malleable due to its coating. As I rubbed the wire several times over on the end, expecting it to harden, it seemed to not do so, even when I bent it multiple times. Regardless, this is a good decorative wire that I will certainly use up, but probably won't buy again because I prefer wire that's not very soft.

It bent easily and held its shape without warping while working on other areas and did not break easily. There is no sign of rust on the alloy, which I expect. According to someone I know who knows about metals and their properties, this metal is aluminum with copper alloy. It doesn't rust, according to him. When I need something that can be installed outdoors permanently, I will use this instead of cable ties. Cable ties become brittle in the cold weather and deteriorate quickly in the sun. My 16 gauge steel wire proved too hard and difficult to bend with my bare hands after I bought it. Compared to the aluminum wire I usually use, this one is a bit thinner and more malleable. Due to the fact that it is not as affordable as steel wires, I deduct a star.
